Nakatomi Vault is the biggest secret of Warzone’s recent mid-season Reloaded update.
As part of the new Nakatomi milestone, you can explore various floors of the iconic tower from the original Die Hard game and stumble upon some unique themed objectives.
All of this allows you to acquire key cards to open the vault, giving you a ton of cash and some unique rewards.
Of course, since Warzone is Warzone, you can always take other players’ loot…

How to open the Nakatomi Vault in Warzone explained
Opening the Vault in Nakatomi Plaza is a simple process, in theory. Below are briefly the steps to open the vault:
- Complete one of the three side quests in Nakatomi Plaza to acquire a key card.
- Visit the 31st floor of Nakatomi Plaza
- Use the key card to open the Vault and again in a deposit box for additional rewards
In practice, it is much more difficult than described; The following sections explain our recommendations on how to achieve the above, but you should know that since many other players will do the same, especially at the location’s debut, you can expect a lot of competition.
How to get vault access cards in Warzone
Vault keycards are obtained in two ways: by completing one of Nakatomi’s three side quests or by defeating a player who has already acquired a keycard and looting their body.
Of the three side quests, playing Unfinished Business in Plunder will be the easiest, as whenever you start it, you can take as much time and as many kills as you need to find all three boxes.
Since it’s a Scavenger-style contract, there are only a limited number available, so you need to pick it up before anyone else at the start of the match.
The other two, Hostile Fire (disabling C4 on the roof) and Deal Gone Wrong (defeating waves of enemies in the basement of the parking lot) work slightly differently in that they can be interrupted by other players.
On their own, these challenges aren’t too difficult, but having to also deal with other players, who may camp nearby and swoop in at the last minute to claim the rewards, means it can be quite frustrating.
On the other hand, you should know that you can do this to other players if you are desperate. As long as you’re near the roof or parking lot, you’ll know that any of the side missions are currently active so you can participate as well.
Completing any of the three side quests will earn you a Vault Access Card. Interestingly, each activity will have an access card associated with a different number. In short, know that all three can open the Vault and that the number will correspond to a specific safe inside for additional rewards.
Where to find the Nakatomi Vault location in Warzone
Once you have a key card to the Vault, it’s time to open it.
The Nakatomi Vault location is on the 31st floor, which can be accessed by first reaching the 30th floor, using the building’s central elevator shafts or ropes on the outside of the building, and then climbing a flight of stairs. (It’s easy to go up two by accident, so check the numbers on the wall as you go up!)
From here, go to the east side of the building, where there is a black circular door and a computer console to the left. This is where you can use any of your Vault Keycards.
Doing so will unlock the Vault door, but there will be an added catch: a notification will be sent to all nearby players stating that it has been opened. This will let them know that the Vault is now accessible and that you will have to survive several seconds as it slowly opens before you can enter.
At launch, people are expected to camp outside the Vault, even if they don’t have a keycard. Again, as with the side quests, you can do the same with others if you want, but let’s be honest, it’s cheap and much less satisfying than doing the hard work itself. (Not only that, the side quests above don’t take as long once you get the hang of them.)
And know that even if you can’t get a keycard or the patience to do the above, once the Vault is open, anyone will be able to visit it, so if you’re just curious, feel free to take a look and maybe you can. . Get some leftover money from whoever opened it.

Warzone Vault Keycard Rewards Explained
Once inside the Vault, there will be two rooms full of money to collect, enough to give you a serious cash injection in Battle Royale or Plunder modes.
In addition to this, there are three numbered safe deposit boxes and require the respective vault access card to open.
In addition to more money in each deposit box, each one also carries an additional reward:
Vault 1 Access Card (Unfinished Business) – Specialist Bonus Vault 2 Access Card (Hostile Fire) – Advanced UAV Kill Streak Vault 3 Access Card (Deal Gone Bad) – Smuggling Contract for a random weapon blueprint
For those hoping to gain an advantage in a match, the first two are the most tempting, especially since the Specialist Bonus will unlock all class perks and equipped weapons. Meanwhile, the Contraband contract is useful for blueprint collectors, but you should know that there is none. new Weapon blueprints as part of the event and will offer one that was previously released.
