Places of Power in Witcher 3 are special places full of magic that you can draw on to increase the power of your signs.
But that’s not all they do: each one will also grant you a skill point the first time you rest on it.
That makes finding these special sites a priority every time you arrive in a new part of the world.
There are even a couple of missions that are blocked, and one that can be missed entirely. So, to help you get them all, here’s a complete breakdown of The Witcher 3 Places of Power.

White Orchard Places of Power locations in The Witcher 3
Aard Location
North of Igni’s place of power, next to a monster nest. Note that it may be full of monsters as a result, so prepare for a fight and consider making a bomb to destroy the nest as well.
Axi Location
West of the Mill on the river. It’s pretty close to the herbalist’s hut, so when you go to see them, consider making the trip then.
Igni Location
Found in the northern region of White Orchard in front of a mausoleum guarded by a specter. The specter cannot be killed unless you enter the mausoleum, so do that first. There are also some key items inside, including a weapons diagram.

South of the Griffin Nest you will find it during The Beast of White Orchard Quest. You will see it nestled between some trees.
queen location 2
It is located in the northeast of the map, near a battlefield and just south of a Ghoul nest. Once again, prepare for a fight and bring a bomb to destroy the nest while you’re here.
Yrden Location
East of the Abandoned Village and guarded by a bear within a small forest region. The Place of Power itself is on the north side of the small group of trees.
Velen Places of Power Locations in The Witcher 3
Aard Location
In the south of the region, below the enchanted village of Frischlow. It’s one of the southernmost points you’ll go and is occasionally surrounded by wraiths.
Igni Location
Right next to the cave that hides the Tree Spirit in the Whispering Hillock quest. It will be guarded by a werewolf, so be prepared for a tough fight.

In the northwest of the region below a lighthouse that has its drawbridge raised. Carefully go down the cliffs to reach it.
Yrden Location
Inaccessible until you have completed the Wandering in the Dark quest. At the end of the quest you will have the opportunity to do the Magic Lamp quest, do so and go left along a small path in the caves to find the Place of Power.
Yrden 2 Location
At the top of a hill northeast of Downwarren, you’ll have to climb some ledges to reach it. So follow the map and keep your eyes up to spot it.
Quen Location – Bald Mountain
It can only be accessed once you are doing the Bald Mountain quest. Once you’re past the doors, you’ll play as Ciri for a while. Once you have control of Geralt again, you will cross a small bridge, which is just to your left after the bridge.
Novigrad Places of Power in The Witcher 3
Axi Location
Head north of Vegelbud Residence until you reach the place where the road forks. The Place of Power is at the top of a small hill just north of the divide.
Igni Location
Head to the northern section of Novigrad, Temple Island. The Place of Power can be seen at the top of a cliff.
Skellige Places of Power Locations in The Witcher 3
Aard Location
Northeast of the druid’s camp is a small set of ruins. There is a Cyclops here guarding the area, but if you enter the building you will find the Place of Power near the Mastercrafter Griffin armor diagrams.
Axi Location
Simply turn around when you reach Skellige and you will see this one in a sunken terrain. Keep in mind that there are many harpies in the area.

South of Fornhala, follow the mountain path and you’ll be able to see it on your left about halfway up, just jump down and you can claim it.
Igni Location
Go to Svorlag and climb the path to the top of a small mountain. You will find the Place of Power at the top of the path.
quen location
Found at the end of the Yngvar’s Fang trail. It requires quite a bit of jumping and also involves some annoying harpy fights.
queen location 2
It can only be accessed if you choose to help Cerys after defeating the bears in Kaer Trolde; You will find it as you advance through the basements of the castle.
Yrden Location
Right next to the Druid Camp west of Blandare. You’ll be sent here as part of the main quest, so feel free to wait until that’s the case if you don’t like running.
Yrden 2 Location
Head west from Harviken along the roads and you will come to a place where the road splits for the second time. Head north at this point and you will reach the Place of Power.
Igni – Sunstone Location
Found inside the Ancient Crypt. You can only enter it when you are searching for the Sun Stone as part of the battle preparation quest near the end of the game. Turn right once you reach the main cavern and are assaulted by some drowners.
Kaer Morhen Places of Power in The Witcher 3
Igni Location
You can find this place of power when you are adventuring with Lambert as part of the Ugly Baby quests. It is at the top of a cliff that can only be accessed once you have passed through the cave that houses Old Speartip.
Through time and space Places of power in The Witcher 3
Aard Location
This mission takes you through different worlds. The second is a strange forest area with a poisonous fog on the ground. You can see the Place of Power as the cutscene shows you where the next portal is, just go up to it on your way there.

Toussaint’s Places of Power in The Witcher 3
Aard Location
Found on the southern edge of a lake in southern Toussaint. Just west of Viñedo Hortense.
Axi Location
Northeast of the Rioux-Cannes outpost, in the western part of the map, you will find a cave where a man named Hugo has disappeared. The cave is full of monsters, but you can find the Place of Power inside it as you go.
Igni Location
Just south of the ruins of Fort Ussar, where two Slyzards live. There are some armor and weapon diagrams around here, so be sure to clear the place before you leave.
quen location
Below the Termes Palace Ruins, you will find an area to drop down that contains the Place of Power.
Yrden Location
At the northernmost point of the map, near the ruins of the palace of Arthach. This one is defended by a high level Wight.
