Finding the tie clip is the first objective you must complete in The Medium.
Marianne wants to find the tie clip so she can properly prepare the body of her adoptive father, Jack, for burial. This little quest also serves as an introduction to one of Marianne’s supernatural powers, which will come in handy throughout the game.

How to Find the Tie Clip on The Medium
To find the tie clip in The Medium, you must first leave the living room and head into the hallway of the apartment. From there, you’ll want to enter the open door directly to the left of the room door.
This door will take you to Jack’s study and once here you will need to interact with the left side of the room.
By doing so, you will be able to see up close the medals, the cabinet the watch is in, and most importantly, the small red box next to the watch.
Selecting the red box will reveal that this is the box for the tie clip. Unfortunately, however, it is not inside.
Now you need to use Marianne’s power of insight to reveal that the tie clip has slipped under the watch.
Finally, select the watch and Marianne will push it back to retrieve the tie clip.
However, before you leave Jack’s apartment, remember to stop by the kitchen to feed his cat and unlock the Hungry Feline achievement. All you have to do is pick up the can of cat food from the kitchen counter, examine the bowls on the floor, and then select the cat food from your inventory.
Don’t forget to find the cat!
