Destiny 2’s Into the Depths is a quest that takes place during the Season of the Depths.
Each season, Destiny 2 has a story that is updated with new steps every week, requiring you to participate in seasonal activities to progress.
In the Season of the Depths, this means diving into the sea of methane to eliminate the forces of darkness.

How to start the Into the Depths mission in Destiny 2
Gaining access to the Into the Depths quest begins when you first select your character and launch into Destiny 2 during the Season of the Depths.
You’ll be pulled straight into a story mission called The Descent, which reintroduces you to Titan, a location that had previously been removed from Destiny. Once you complete this mission, you will be placed aboard the HELM and sent to speak with the Wanderer through the holoprojector, beginning the Into the Depths mission.
Destiny 2: Mission of the week 1: We are in the depths (steps 1 to 7)
The first week of Into the Depths begins with these steps:
1. Talk to Drifter through the holoprojector in HELM.
2. Complete the Rescue activity. Launch Salvage from the Destinations tab in HELM
3. Complete the mission ‘Operation Lightning’. Start the mission from the Destination tab in HELM
4. Take the coral to Sloane in the HELM.
5. Talk to Sloane through the holoprojector in HELM.
6. Claim the “Deep Challenger” seasonal challenge.
7. Vanguard will inform you once Sloane and Ahsa are ready to strengthen their bond again.

The steps of the second week are:
8. Talk to Zavala through the holoprojector in HELM.
9. Complete the Rescue activity. Launch Salvage from the Destinations tab in HELM
10. Complete the mission ‘Mayday, Mayday’. Start the mission from the Destination tab in HELM.
11. Witness the conversation at HELM
12. Take the coral to Sloane at the HELM.
13. Talk to Sloane through the holoprojector in HELM.
14. The Vanguard will inform you once Sloane and Ahsa are ready to strengthen their bond again.

The steps of the third week are:
15. Talk to Saladin through the holoprojector in HELM.
16. Complete the mission ‘Operation Fulgurite’ Start the mission from the Destination tab in the HELM
17. Complete a deep dive activity. Deep dives are started from the Destinations tab in HELM
18. Witness the conversation at the HELM.
19. Take the coral to Sloane at the HELM.
20. Talk to Sloane through the holoprojector in HELM.
21. The Vanguard will inform you once Sloane and Ahsa are ready to strengthen their bond again.

23. Collect Amorphous Alloys by defeating Scorn in Savathûn’s Throne World.
24. Complete a deep dive activity. Deep dives are started from the Destinations tab in HELM
25. Witness the conversation in the HELM.
26. Take the coral to Sloane at the HELM.
27. Talk to Sloane through the holoprojector in HELM.
28. The Vanguard will inform you once Sloane and Ahsa are ready to strengthen their bond again.
Destiny 2 We Into the Depths Week 5 Mission (Steps 29-35)
The steps of the fifth week are:
29. Talk to Saint-14 through the holoprojector in HELM.
30. Check in with Drifter through the holoprojector in HELM
31. Talk to Hawthorne in the Tower.
32. Defeat Hathrek, the Glasweard in the Lost Extraction Sector on the throne world of Savathun.
33. Return to Sloane and Ahsa at the HELM.
34. Talk to Sloane through the holoprojector in HELM.
35. The Vanguard will inform you once Sloane and Ahsa are ready to bond again.
Destiny 2 We Into the Depths Week 7 Quest (Steps 36-39)
The steps of the last week are:
36. Talk to Saladin through the holoprojector in HELM.
37. Complete the quest “Baqrotrauma”. The mission can be started from the Destinations tab in HELM.
38. Witness the conversation at the HELM.
39. Talk to Sloane through the holoprojector in HELM.
When does the Into the Depths quest expire?
Often season missions will last longer than their particular season finale. The Season of the Deep is scheduled to end with the weekly reset on Tuesday, August 22.
There will likely be some kind of epilogue mission during the last week of the season. However, if previous updates are any indication, Guardians who haven’t finished We Stand Unbroken will likely still be able to complete the quest steps during the upcoming season.
