Swirlix occupies an odd space in Pokémon Go because it has a surprisingly low catch rate, despite not being a particularly good Pokémon. As a result, the chances of you having a shiny, perfect Swirlix are pretty low, making this a great opportunity to go out and try to catch one! Swirlix IV stats 100% perfect in Pokémon Go
This week’s Featured Hour is a great opportunity to catch a Swirlix with perfect IV stats.
Swirl.
“Perfect” means two things in Pokémon Go, depending on how you plan to use a given Pokémon. First, there’s the max build, 100% IV, which is the 15/15/15 you’re looking for for your 4* Pokédex, Raids, and Master League. However, because of how CP is calculated using three stats, a perfect Pokémon IV is usually just the best version of itself in the Master League.
Of course, you can’t see a Pokémon’s IV without catching it first, but with a little research beforehand, you can quickly spot a perfect Swirlix based on CP alone.
If you’re at level 30 (or higher), you’ll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Swirlix:
The wild CP value aligns with your trainer level until you reach level 30, and since the majority of the player base is now above this level, we’ve kept these values for the sake of simplicity. However, these values will be different if you are currently below level 30.
Is Slurpuff good at PvP?
Sadly not; Trying to win with Slurpuff is like trying to wash cotton candy. Still, no matter your league, Slurpuff performs Charm (fast move), Flamethrower (charged move), and Energy Ball (charged move). While he can apply reasonable fast-moving pressure thanks to Charm, Slurpuff, Swirlix’s evolved form, is slow and inflexible. It also applies a low shielding pressure, which is not so ideal.

Simply put, there are simply better options in Fairy writing.
In Great League, you can expect wins against the dark side of the meta (Umbreon, Scrafty, and the like), along with Altaria and Medicham. However, losses against Galarian Stunfisk, Trevenant, Swampert, and Noctowl are much more significant, with Stunfisk being the biggest threat. Slurpuff isn’t even in the top 200 Pokémon in this league.
Slurpuff fares a little better in the Ultra League, but only by about 10 spots, coming in ninth for Fairy types overall. The most notable benefit of running Slurpuff here is that you can pick up wins against Cobalion and Giratina. This is good news, of course, although with expected losses against Talonflame, Swampert, Cresselia, Trevenant, and Walrein, Slurpuff is not well positioned against the rest of the meta.
As for Master League, Slurpuff is worthless. Do not even think about it. It barely makes it into the top 400 Pokémon in this League.
The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! Its first event is A Paldean Adventure, which sees the true launch of Gen 9 and the special research mission A Paldean Adventure. You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
Is there a shiny Swirlix in Pokémon Go?
Yeah! Released in August 2022, alongside the shiny Pansage as part of the Go Fest Sapporo event, there is a shiny Swirlix in Pokémon Go.
However, given its scarcity since its release in August, there’s a good chance you won’t have one.
Swirlix and Slurpuff are Fairy-type Pokémon.
Spotlight Hours, unlike Community Days, do not have an enhanced brightness rate, so when you search for a shiny Swirlix, you will do so with the usual brightness rates in this work. This means that if you really want a brilliant Swirlix, you need to make the most of this hour! And remember, with Swirlix’s low base catch rate, you’ll want to use your Golden Razz Berries to maximize your chances of a successful catch.
What does the shiny Swirlix look like?
As you can see below, Swirlix and Slurpuff take on a more caramelized color than their usual pure white. Both also swap their pink accents for brown, although Slurpuff’s red collar (we think?) takes on a much deeper shade of red.

Other tips for this hour of attention
Besides trying to catch a shiny Swirlix in Pokémon Go, there are a couple of other good reasons to participate in this week’s Spotlight:
- The best reason is of course the double catch Stardust bonus that runs throughout the hour. This gives you the chance to collect Stardust twice as fast as usual, and each Swirlix captured grants 200 Stardust instead of the basic 100. If the in-game weather is cloudy, this adds an additional 50 Stardust (double the usual 25), and this stacks with a Star Piece to give a 1.5x multiplier to all Stardust earned. This means that each Weather-Powered Swirlix captured while wearing a Star Piece will be worth 375 Stardust!
- If you’re a newcomer, this Featured Hour is the perfect time to collect enough Swirlix candy to fully evolve this Pokémon and enter its evolution, Slurpuff, into the Pokédex.
- Thanks to Swirlix being a Fairy type, catching a bunch during this Featured Hour will add progress to your respective catch bonus medal.
Spotlight Hour events only last one hour: from 6 pm to 7 pm (local time). Next week we will see Seedot take center stage with the double capture of Stardust.
