Sonic Origins cheat codes for level select, debug mode and Super Sonic

Sonic Origins cheat codes for level select, debug mode and Super Sonic

Sonic Origins cheats allow you to move forward with level selection and edit levels with debug mode.

Three of the games in the Sonic Origins compilation (Sonic 1, Sonic 2, and Sonic 3 and Knuckles) have the same cheats available, but require different inputs for them to work.

Most are based on the Mega Drive (or Genesis) originals and function similarly, while others offer new features, such as the ability to toggle new abilities and rules into the original Sonic.

This page explains how to enter Sonic Origins cheat codes for each individual game.

How do Sonic Origins cheat codes work?

All of the Sonic Origins cheats work basically the same as the original games. First, you must enter the ‘Level Select’ menu screen, which requires you to enter a code on the title screen (where you will see the game logo, before starting the first level).

From there, to activate more codes, you must play sound effects from the Sound Test option in a specific order. If you succeed, you will hear a sound effect and then you can use that trick on the level of your choice.

All the codes are below, divided into individual games in the collection. In addition to this, there are some additional points to consider:

  • Cheats work in Classic or Anniversary modes of each game.
  • Several cheats work at the same time, so if you want to have both Super Sonic mode and Debug mode active, you can do it!
  • Once you’ve turned on debug mode, press the Circle button on PlayStation / B on Xbox / A on Switch to see Sonic transform into an object. In this mode, you can rotate through items and place them anywhere you want, and float through objects, that is, in addition to creating your own platforms (or challenges), you can simply move to inaccessible places or even to the end of the scenario if you prefer.

  • You can use cheats and the trophies/achievements will still work. This is particularly useful if you want to beat the game faster or jump to the last level and become “invincible” with debug mode during the final boss so you can unlock each “game completion” trophy.
  • As a side note: If you’re looking for trophies and playing on PS5, it’s worth playing the PS4 version first thanks to backward compatibility, getting the Platinum (which, even without using cheats, should be pretty easy), and then transferring your saved game to the PS5. version for a second free Platinum:

To test this, I launched Sonic Origins on PS4 and when launching the PS5 version, I get a prompt to transfer save data. Assuming the trophies appear again, if you have a PS5 and want double Platinum, play the PS4 version first! pic.twitter.com/tK7YntVND1

Are there Sonic CD cheat codes in Sonic Origins?

As of this writing, no Sonic CD cheat codes have been discovered in Sonic Origins.

Although there is the usual selection of cheats in the original, such as level select and debug mode, there is apparently no such option available in this version.

However, the fact that the other three games are working suggests that there is a chance that one will be discovered at some point, and if so, we will update this page when that is the case.

Until then, you’ll just have to play Sonic CD the usual way!
