Sekiro Treasure Carp Scale locations – where to find all Treasure Carp Scales

Sekiro Treasure Carp Scale Locations – All Carp Scales Listed

1. Hirata Estate – Dragonspring Idol: 5x Carp Scales

From Dragonspring Idol, start moving through the trees and you will find yourself looking at a huge bridge with an enemy carrying a torch. Kill it or ignore it completely and look to the left side, near the coast.

There’s a big rock in there. Flip it over and you will see a shiny item. There’s your first treasure carp scale.

Now it’s time to swim. Cross the lake, go over the bridge and kill all the fish that cross your path. You just need to make a quick slash with the sword and that will be it, the item will be picked up automatically.

There are four of them as you go until you see a blue barrel. He will talk to you, but don’t worry, he is a friendly NPC. In fact, he is a merchant who sells some very important items, only in exchange for Treasure Carp Scales.

2. Hirata Estate – Bamboo Thicket Slope Idol: 2x Carp Scales

There are two here in the lake near the Idol, but one requires you to have already acquired the Mibu Breathing Technique from the Corrupt Monk. If you’re still in the early stages of Sekiro, don’t be afraid to leave this for when you pass that point in the story.

When you see the first grab message, go up there and continue until you see a lake. Jump and start diving automatically. There’s your first fish.

Now, continue to the right side, you will notice a closed stream. The second fish is lying there. Enjoy your two new Treasure Carp scales.

3. Senpou Temple, Mount Kongo – Temple Grounds Idol: 2x Carp Scales

Walk a little further away from the Idol and look past the buildings below you for a puddle of water. For this one, simply jump and kill the fish to get two treasure carp scales.

4. Depths of Ashina – Mibu Village Idol: 3x Carp Scales

From the Idol, you’ll see a tent just across the river. Approach it and you will see the message to talk to the merchant. Along with a bunch of other things, he also sells x2 Treasure Carp Scales for the price of 500 Sen each.

But that is not all. If you follow the river from the tent you will encounter a tough enemy. Defeat him and you will be rewarded with one more treasure carp scale.

5. Depths of Ashina – Watermill Idol: 1x Carp Scale

The water mill is right on the left side of the Idol, so head over there and jump into the water. Start swimming upstream and use your Mibu breathing technique to dive. You will see a fish, which will gladly give you a treasure carp scale after you kill it.

6. Sunken Valley – Gun Fort Idol: 3x Carp Scales

This one is really simple. Head straight towards the main area and once you reach the bridge, jump into the water.

You’ll have to dive once more to kill two fish and get two Treasure Carp Scales and loot a shiny item right on the other side to get a third Treasure Carp Scale.

7. Ashina Castle – Abandoned Dungeon Entrance Idol: 2x Carp Scales

You can get here in many ways. Just for reference, it is the lake that is right under the first main bridge in the Ashina Castle area. Using your diving skill, you’ll find a treasure carp scale to collect and another fish scale on the other side for a total of two.

8. Spring Palace – Mibu Mansion: 3x Carp Scales

There are three treasure carp scales to collect from here and a key item we’ll need for later. First things first: you’ll want to tour the mansion. Kill all the enemies you come across and perform stealth strikes as much as possible so as not to attract too much attention.

Enter and go through the first hallway. Turn right and head into the large area. Continue until you see a small bridge. From there, continue to the other side where you will see some small walls and an enemy who is just playing his instrument and won’t notice you. For reference, there is an altar just below.

Enter and follow the door. You will reach another large area, which you will want to explore while crouching. Once you reach the first wall, turn left and you will see a hole in the floor. Go underwater there.

After moving forward, you will see a shiny object calling to you from the surface of another hole in the ground. Get out of the water and you’ll find three treasure carp scales along with a chest. Take the palace water from inside and then head to the idol at the door of the bridal cave.

9. Depths of Ashina – Bridal Cave Gate Idol: 5x Carp Scales

Either from here or from Water Mill Idol, go to the house where the enemies are gathering at the entrance. Sneak away stealthily and reach the ground by crouching. Start moving and you’ll see a prompt to interact with a hidden mechanism. It will automatically take you inside the house.

Talk to the nearby NPC and offer him the Palace Water. Now, return to the Idol, rest, and repeat the process.

You will see that the NPC has changed to something similar to the Fountainhead Palace enemies, but don’t worry as he will die very quickly. It may be a hassle, but doing so will earn you five Treasure Carp Scales. You are welcome.

10. Fountainhead Palace – Flower Viewing Stage Idol: 12x Carp Scales

Surprise, we return to underwater diving. In this huge lake, there are a total of twelve treasure carp scales scattered below the surface, seven come from killing carp, and the other five can be found as items.

Right at the beginning of the lake following the Idol, try to go as deep as possible to find two carp swimming. He continues on and you’ll come across some sort of underwater temple.

There’s one more below, and you should also make sure to pick up the Precious Bait there.

From this area continue until you cross some destroyed houses. You can follow the trail of remains until you see two more tents.

Look for a thin space between two rocks in the direction of the sun. Just on the other side there are two more Carps waiting for you.

You can then return to the main lake area. Keep going down until you see that the corpse is a giant fish. There, you’ll see two glowing items surrounding a chest.

Do you remember the area with the miserable houses? Go back there and look for an empty house that has three shiny items inside. Those are the last carp scales from the lake’s treasure.

11. Fountainhead Palace – Flower Viewing Stage Idol: 4x Carp Scales

Along with the precious bait you picked up earlier, continue down until you see a giant log in the corner of the lake. It looks like an isolated arm with a shiny object. Pick it up and you’ll get the second Precious Bait. From here, walk or simply head to the Palace Grounds Idol.

Run through the house and out the door to the right. Aim at the idol and you will notice a message to grab the roof. Go straight to the next tree branch and then jump to the roof in front of it.

Continue up the temple stairs, turn right, and then jump to the platform below. Those are the feeding areas.

All that’s left is to ring the bell and feed the giant fish two Precious Baits. Once you’re done, go and talk to the NPC. He will give you the last four scales of the treasure carp.
