This circular yellow light puzzle in Act 3 of Scorn is one of the hardest to solve in the entire game, and unfortunately, there are two of them.
The good news is that the second one is easier to solve after you work out the unique mechanics involved in trying to solve the first one. We’ll explain how both work below, along with what to do when you’ve solved these yellow light puzzles so you can complete Act 3 and move on to the next.

Solution 1 of the yellow light puzzle in the act of contempt 3
On the same floor where you get the gun, you’ll encounter the first circular yellow light puzzle in Scorn, and it can be a little difficult to understand how it works at first (it sure was for me).
Your goal is to light up all the inner circles, but when you light one, the others may go out. Some are also connected to each other, meaning that when you spin them, it will spin others with them, ruining all the work you’ve done to position them correctly.
The first thing you need to know is that you will need to rotate the middle circle (the one with the long bar attached) to disconnect these circles from each other. Turn it until it points towards one of the top circular lights and you will see that the horizontal bar between them will temporarily break. One of these top circular lights can now be rotated on its own, or just the middle and one of the top circles together.
Each circle, whether illuminated or not, has two small nodes. Some ‘bars’ come out from these nodes to connect each circle. Your real goal, then, is to make the right connection with these nodes and bars to illuminate all four circles at the same time.
The quickest way we found to solve this first yellow light puzzle in Scorn Act 3 is:
- Point the long bar in the middle circle toward the circle on the right to disconnect the top two circles from each other.
- Turn the circle on the left until it lights up.
- This time, point the long bar in the middle circle toward the circle on the left.
- Turn the circle on the right until it lights up.
- Point the long bar in the middle circle toward the circle on the right.
- Turn the right circle four times.
- Point the long bar in the middle circle toward the circle on the left.
- Turn the circle on the right until it lights up again.
- Point the long bar in the middle circle toward the bottom circle.
All four circles should now light up and you will be able to collect your reward from the dispenser on the right.
There is a checkpoint right before you interact with this first yellow light puzzle, so if you are stuck, we recommend exiting the game and then reloading to reset the puzzle and follow the exact instructions described above to solve it.

Solution 2 of the yellow light puzzle in Scorn Act 3
Bring the item you got from solving the first yellow light puzzle to the floor with the three holes of the alien device lined up next to each other and select the middle one.
One floor below will now be unlocked and you can take the same spherical elevator as before to reach it. On the other side of this floor is the second yellow light puzzle, which has additional circles and lights, but the same logic of nodes and bars still applies here.
Remember, you can use the middle circle to disconnect some of the linked circles so you can rotate them alone or just two at a time.
This is the quickest way we found to solve the second yellow light puzzle in Act 3 of Scorn:
- Point the long bar from the lower middle circle towards the upper middle circle to disconnect the left and right circles from each other.
- Turn the circle on the left until it lights up.
- Rotate the upper middle circle until the upper middle circle lights up.
- This time, point the long bar in the lower middle circle toward the circle on the right.
- Turn the right circle five times.
- Point the long bar of the lower middle circle towards the gain of the upper middle circle to disconnect the left and right circles.
- Turn the circle on the right until it lights up.
- Point the long bar in the lower middle circle toward the lower circle.
As a reminder, there is a checkpoint right before you interact with this second yellow light puzzle, so if you are stuck, we recommend exiting the game and then reloading to reset the puzzle and follow the exact instructions described above to solve it. .

Once resolved, you can pick up the dispensed item on the right and take it back to the floor with the three holes of the alien device lined up next to each other again. Insert this one to the right and then take the spherical elevator to the end, where you will have to solve the next crane puzzle to complete Act 3.

Solution to the crane puzzle in Scorn Act 3
Fortunately, this crane puzzle in Act 3 is not as complicated as the circular light puzzles were.
Once you’ve taken the spherical elevator to the bottom of the room, go to the other side and interact with the panel near the mechanical claw.
He’ll take the spherical elevator you’ve been using with a crane and place it on this mechanical claw, causing it to move along the rails.
Follow the rails back to the elevator with two alien devices and use the one higher up to grab the spherical elevator.
Once the crane controls the elevator, go to the lower device and interact with it to raise the elevator, then return to the upper device and move the spherical elevator to the right side of the elevator you are standing on. on another mechanical claw.
Finally, use the alien panel opposite this claw to move it to the back of the elevator, then enter the spherical elevator again, which will take you to the next act.
