The Jack Hall Gang Treasure Maps from Red Dead Redemption 2 are an optional side quest you can take at the beginning of the game.

Starting with finding one of the Strangers, the path will take you to three maps and a variety of locations, granting you various rewards along the way, as well as progressing through one of its many Challenges.

How to Start the Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map Mission

The Jack Hall Gang treasure map quest can be started pretty much as soon as you start Chapter 2, where the game starts to open up.

Doing so will not only give you an excuse to explore nature and improve your progress in the Explorer Challenge, but it will also give you a number of rewards (a pearl necklace, $15 in cash, and, in the final stage, two gold bars with a value of $500 each).

In Chapter 2, you can find a strange location on some cliffs west of Flatrock Station and north of the railroad.

This explorer will sell you the first Jack Hall Gang treasure map for $10, a pretty good value for the amount you’ll get in the end.

Of course, you can decide to reject him and steal from him; We decide to pay the money, but the call is ultimately yours.

Regardless of how you decide to obtain the map, you will be able to advance to the first location.

Jack Hall Gang 1 Treasure Map Location

Look at the map by opening your bag (press and hold the D-Pad, then Documents) to see the buildings at the bottom and some rocks above.

The town is Valentín, and the rocks are Caliban’s Seat, south of the town:

Approach Caliban’s Seat from the southeast, which you can climb on foot.

Continue along the plateau and you will reach a camp on the right. A little before, the top of the mountain descends to the right. Progress down there.

Move along the edge of the cliff until you reach a gap, as well as a higher rock. You need to run and jump (press Square or X on Xbox) to jump, and the same button to jump.

At the end of this cliff there is a crack in the wall that you can look for. Doing so will earn you a pearl necklace, which you can sell at a fence, and Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map 2.

Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map 2 Location

Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map 2 shows several geysers. These are located in Cotorra Springs, which is at the northern end of the map (just north of Fort Wallace, which should be on your map):

When you arrive you will want to stop at the second ‘O’ or Cotorra. This is where you will see a circle of cairns, with the three geysers on the map to the northeast:

Stand on the rock formation closest to these geysers (it’s the one with the flat top) and you should receive a message to search.

Doing so will get you $15 and Jack Hall Gang Treasure Map 3. We are almost there!
