Unfortunately, Purrloin and its evolution Liepard are actively bad at competitive play and you won’t want to use them in raids in Pokémon Go.

Purrloin IV stats 100% perfect in Pokémon Go
This week’s Featured Hour is a great opportunity to catch a Purrloin with perfect IV stats.
Purrloin.
“Perfect” means two things in Pokémon Go, depending on how you plan to use a given Pokémon. First, there’s the max build, 100% IV, which is the 15/15/15 you’re looking for for your 4* Pokédex, Raids, and Master League. However, because of how CP is calculated using three stats, a perfect Pokémon IV is usually just the best version of itself in the Master League.
Of course, you can’t see a Pokémon’s IV without catching it first, but with a little research beforehand, you can quickly spot a perfect Purrloin based on CP alone.
If you’re at level 30 (or higher), you’ll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect Purrloin 15/15/15:
The wild CP value aligns with your trainer level until you reach level 30, and since the majority of the player base is now above this level, we’ve kept these values for the sake of simplicity. However, these values will be different if you are currently below level 30.
Is Liepard good at PvP?
No. No, it’s not. The only one you could really consider running Liepard in is the Great League, and it’s not even in the top 50 Dark-type Pokémon there. But maybe Liepard is your favorite Pokémon and you really want to try to make it work. In which case, you’re looking at the following moveset: Snarl, Dark Pulse, and Play Rough as a second charged move.
Liepardo.
This is a completely reasonable moveset – it’s spammy and applies a lot of shield pressure, and that’s even considering that we’re opting not to run Charm as the fast move here, instead leaning toward STAB damage.
The problem is simply Liepard’s stats: not everything can be an absolute bomb, and this is a prime example. His defense is too low to be worth using, as he doesn’t stick around long enough to have a real impact on the match.
If you absolutely insist that you want to run one, a perfect Major League Liepard is a 0/15/14.
A perfect Liepard hits 1846 CP at level 40, meaning it simply isn’t going to go toe-to-toe with anything reaching 2500 CP in the Ultra League, and it certainly won’t hold up against anything above 4000 CP in the Master League. . .
There’s really no tiptoeing around this admittedly cool cat – he’s not good at Go Battle League.

Is there a shiny Purrloin in Pokémon Go?
The bad news continues: there is no shiny Purrloin in Pokémon Go. What makes this doubly frustrating is that the shiny is launching next month as part of Safari Zone Singapore on November 18.

What does the shiny Purrloin look like?
As you can see, the shiny Purrloin takes on a dark blue hue with hints of purple, while the evolved form, Liepard, loses its purple for a more realistic reddish brown.

Other tips for this hour of attention
Besides trying to catch a perfect Purrloin in Pokémon Go, there are other good reasons to participate in this week’s Spotlight. The vast majority of players who show up at this featured time will no doubt do so to enjoy the special one-hour bonus below:
- The best reason is, of course, the double evolution XP bonus that runs throughout the hour. This gives you the opportunity to accumulate a lot of XP very quickly, so you can increase your trainer level. The best way to do this is to have two tags in your Pokémon storage dedicated to this time. The first is the things you want to evolve and keep (usually strong Pokémon and Pokémon you need to evolve to update your Pokédex) and the things you want to evolve and transfer. This second box should contain all of the 12 candy Pokémon. The search string to quickly find all of these rated less than 3* is: 0*,1*,2*&10,13,16,265,293,519&!shiny
- If you’re a newcomer, this Featured Hour is the perfect time to collect enough Purrloin candies to fully evolve this Pokémon and record its evolution, Liepard, in your Pokédex.
- Thanks to Purrloin being a Dark-type Pokémon, catching many during this Featured Hour will add progress to your Dark-type catch bonus medal.
Remember: Spotlight Hour events only last one hour: from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm (local time).
