Where to find the stand screw to prepare the PS5 vertically

If you plan to place the PS5 upright, you will first need to retrieve the screw from the PS5 stand, because without it you will not be able to secure the stand to the console.

The screw can actually be found inside the bracket itself; If you look at the bottom of the stand, you will notice that there is room for a small compartment.

To reach the screw, you must rotate the base and hooks of the stand until you reach this compartment. Inside you will find the nail, which you can remove, and a space to store the screw cap, which you will take from the back of the console.

The screw can be quite difficult to remove, but if you hold it that way, you should be able to free it.

How to place the PS5 upright

If you have the space, you’ll most likely want to have the PS5 upright. While you can do this without the stand, it will help keep your PS5 safe, so we highly recommend using it.

To attach the bracket, you will first need to remove the bracket screw. You can easily do this by rotating the bracket and once you have the screw, make sure to place it in a safe place.

You’ll also want to make sure the hooks attached to the stand are aligned correctly with the raised piece in the middle, as shown below:

Then, place the console with the back facing up and the bottom facing you.

In the middle of the base of the PS5 you will see a screw cap, which you will need to remove. (This can be quite difficult for people with short nails like me.)

To keep the screw cap secure, place it inside the bracket, next to where you found the screw.

Now, you’ll want to attach the stand by lining it up with the hole you revealed for the screw and making sure the hooks are aligned with the back of the console.

Make sure you tighten the screw correctly.

Finally, you’ll want to tighten the screw using, ideally, a coin (we used 10 pence) or something similar.

Once you’ve tightened the screw, you can place the PS5 upright and start playing.

How to place the PS5 horizontally

If you prefer to have your PS5 horizontally (and who can blame you), then you have two positions: you can place the PS5 on its side or place the stand horizontally.

We highly recommend attaching the stand as it will help protect your PS5.

It is a good idea to place the support.

Before you begin attaching the stand, you will want to rotate the hook on the stand so that it is northwest of the raised section of the stand. See the image below to get a better idea of what position the hook should be in:

Next, you need to place the PS5 with its back facing up and the PS5 logo on its left wing facing you.

In this position, you should be able to see a series of symbols that resemble traditional Sony buttons, on the inside of the right wing.

You will want to place the hooks for the support on top of the squares at each end of this line of symbols. Do this carefully but firmly to ensure the hooks are properly attached to the PS5.

Then, feel free to place the PS5 on its side wherever you managed to find space for it.
