A Valorous Hero is the special research quest launched in Pokémon Go during the A Valorous Hero event in April 2023.
As of this writing, the A Valorous Hero quest is the only way to earn a Candela-themed Ponyta accessory in Pokémon Go. Hopefully we’ll see this costumed Pokemon available through other means in the future, but since this event is specifically focused on a single character in the game, rather than an annual event, it seems unlikely at the moment.

Steps of the mission ‘A Brave Hero’ in Pokémon Go
Below you will find the steps of the A Valorous Hero special research mission in Pokémon Go, along with the rewards for this mission.
The A Valorous Hero Special Research story was released in Pokémon Go during the A Valorous Hero event on Thursday, May 11, 2023. If you want to enter and win an encounter with a unique costumed Poynta, be sure to log into the game before the event. . ends on Wednesday, May 17 at 8:00 p.m. (local time).
As with all special research tasks, you can complete A Valorous Hero at your own pace once you unlock it.

- Catch 15 Pokemon – 10 Poké Balls

The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! Its first event is A Paldean Adventure, which sees the true launch of Gen 9 and the special research mission A Paldean Adventure. You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
How does A Valorous Hero work in Pokémon Go?
A Brave Hero is a special research quest in Pokémon Go, which means you’re free to gallop through it for rewards or canter through it. There is no time pressure here, whatever suits you best!
This quest became available on Thursday, May 11 at 10am (local time) as part of the A Valorous Hero event.
That aside, A Valorous Hero works exactly the same as other special research quests in Pokémon Go; You are challenged to complete a series of tasks in exchange for rewards, and after doing so you unlock the general rewards of the mission step along with the next step. You then repeat this process until the mission is completed.
