How to evolve Eevee is once again a matter of friendship, times of day, and unusual rocks.
As has been the case for a while now, there are a total of eight ‘Eeveelutions’ in Legends: Arceus, each with their own method. Most of these remain unchanged from the traditional main series Pokémon games, but there are a couple of minor tweaks here and there.
We’ll explain all of this below, in our guide on how to get Umbreon, Sylveon, Espeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Pokémon Legends Arceus Eveelutions: how to evolve Eevee into Umbreon, Sylveon and Espeon
Generally speaking, there are several types of Eevee evolution methods in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. For three of the Eeveelutions, it involves giving Eevee a specific Evolution Stone. For two, it’s taking Eevee to a specific location (or a couple of other Evolution stones).
For the last three, it’s a combination of a few things: friendship, time of day, and what moves you know. Here’s how the last three work, for Sylveon, Espeon, and Umbreon.
- Raise Eevee’s friendship to a high level and then press “Evolve” while it knows a Fairy-type move to turn it into Fairy-type Sylveon.
- Raise Eevee’s friendship to a high level and then press “Evolve” during the day to evolve into Psychic-type Espeon.
- Raise Eevee’s friendship to a high level and then press “Evolve” overnight to evolve into psychic-type Umbreon.
Note that if Eevee knows a Fairy-type move and has a high enough friendship to evolve, it will always evolve into Sylveon, regardless of what time of day you choose to evolve. To get Espeon or Umbreon, you must first remove any Fairy-type moves it knows (which is done by selecting Eevee from your bag menu and then “Change Moves”).
Meanwhile, to increase Eevee’s friendship, there are a few things you can do, such as keeping it in your party for a while. It’s hard to confirm exactly, but fighting him a lot, not letting him get KO’d in battle, and if he’s KO’d, quickly healing him again, and using him to collect items from trees and crystals will all seem to increase. friendship over time.
You can check your Eevee’s happiness level with a man named Belamy in Jubilife Village, which is next to the pastures, but first you’ll need to complete a quick request called Measuring Your Compatibility. To be happy enough to evolve into any of the above three, Eevee has to be at least at the “quick friends” level, in Belamy’s words.
Pokémon Legends Arceus Eveelutions: How to evolve Eevee into Glaceon and Leafeon, plus Icy Rock and Mossy Rock locations
To evolve Eevee into Glaceon and Leafeon, you can actually choose between two different methods, similar to how you have a couple of methods to evolve Eevee in Pokémon Go.
You can evolve Eevee into Ice-type Glaceon in any of the following ways:
- Using an ice stone on Eevee; either
- Take Eevee to Icy Rock in Alabster Iceland and then select ‘Evolve’ from the bag menu
You can evolve Eevee into a Grass-type Leafeon in any of the following ways:
- Using a stone blade on Eevee; either
- Take Eevee to Mossy Rock in Obsidian Fieldlands and then select ‘Evolve’ from the bag menu.
Here is where you can find Icy Rock in Alabaster Iceland:
Head to the underground area halfway between Bonechill Wastes and Avalugg’s Legacy, a little to the west. When you’re there, turn right at the fork in the road to reach Icy Rock.
And here is where you can find Mossy Rock in Obsidian Icelands:
Head to the narrow wooded area west of Grandtree Arena, halfway along the coast, to find Mossy Rock among the trees.

Pokémon Legends Arceus Eveelutions: how to evolve Eevee into Flareon, Vaporeon and Jolteon
Last but not least are the three original Eeveelutions, Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon. These are the simplest of all, they simply require you to use a specific Evolution Stone on your Eevee to obtain the evolution of your choice. Here’s how to do it, if you haven’t already guessed:
- Use a Fire Stone on Eevee to turn it into a Fire-type Flareon.
- Use a water stone on Eevee to evolve into water-type Vaporeon
- Use a Thunder Stone on Eevee to evolve into Electric-type Jolteon
