The Valentine’s Day 2023 event in Pokémon Go celebrates the romantic holiday with some lovely inclusions.
Completing the Lovely Wishes quest steps in Pokémon Go will unlock an additional bonus that will be available until this event ends. Make sure you choose wisely, because there are three to choose from!
You can also fight Mega Gardevoir and Tapu Lele throughout the event, and collect and complete a selection of event-exclusive field research tasks for Valentine’s Day.

Steps of the ‘Lovely Wishes’ mission in Pokémon Go
Luvdisc.
Lovely Wishes is a timed research mission that will take place during the Valentine’s Day 2023 event in Pokémon Go, which will be available until Tuesday, February 14 at 8 pm (local time). So if you want to earn the bonuses and rewards from this mission, make sure to complete it before this date.
Lovely Wishes is also a branching research quest, meaning that depending on the path you take throughout the quest, some of the special rewards and bonuses you earn in the quest will be different from other players.
There are three paths you can take through the Lovely Wishes quests and each gives you an additional bonus until the Valentine’s Day 2023 event ends: one is related to the duration of the Daily Adventure Incense, another to obtain Bonus catch XP and the ultimate with extra rewards. Candy to catch Pokémon.
Below you will find all the steps of the Lovely Wishes quest and the rewards for all three branches. Just beware of spoilers!

‘Lovely Wishes’ Step 1 of 2
- Catch 5 Pokémon – 15 Poké Balls
- Spin 3 PokéStops or Gyms: 10 cool balls
- Power up Pokémon 5 times: 2 Silver Pineapple Berries
Rewards: 500 XP, 500 Stardust and 1 Lucky Egg
Select the route:
Now you must choose one of three paths, which will give you a bonus until the end of the Valentine’s Day 2023 event:
- Catch Pokémon: Receive double XP for capturing Pokémon during the event.
- Using Daily Adventure Incense: 30 minutes of Daily Adventure Incense per day
- Pokémon Candy: double candy rewarded for capturing Pokémon
The path you choose will also affect one of the final challenges of this mission and the final rewards.

The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! Its first event is A Paldean Adventure, which sees the true launch of Gen 9 and the special research mission A Paldean Adventure. You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
Valentine’s Day 2023 Field Research Tasks in Pokémon Go
Spinning a PokéStop during the Valentine’s Day 2023 event in Pokémon Go can reward you with an event-exclusive Field Research task. As long as you don’t delete them, these tasks can be saved to your Field Research Collection and completed after the event ends.
These are the Valentine’s Day 2023 field research tasks:
- Earn 3 hearts with your friend’s reward: encounter with Pikachu, Eevee or Ralts
- Earn 10 hearts with your friend’s reward: Flyer encounter
- Make 5 big curveball throws in a row as a reward: Spinda encounter
- Open 5 Gifts Reward: Combee or Morelull encounter
- Send 2 gifts with a reward sticker attached: Luvdisc encounter
- Spin 5 rewards from Pokéstops or gyms: encounter with Hippopotas or Litleo
- Spin 10 rewards from PokéStops or Gyms: encounter with Chansey, Audino or Alomomola

Valentine’s Day 2023 Global Challenge Rewards in Pokémon Go
A global challenge will be available to all trainers during the 2023 Valentine’s Day event, from Tuesday, February 7 at 12 pm PST to Tuesday, February 14 at 10 pm PST. For those in the UK, this is the start time of 8am on February 7 and the end time of 6am on February 15.
The 2023 Valentine’s Day Global Challenge tasks all players with collectively sending 100 million gifts, so be sure to send plenty of gifts throughout the event to contribute!
If this goal is met, Trainers will earn the following rewards from the 2023 Valentine’s Day Global Challenge:
- x3 Transfer Candy for the rest of the event
- x2 Transfer Candy XL for Trainers level 31 and above for the rest of the event
Everything you need to know about the Valentine’s Day 2023 event in Pokémon Go
There are a selection of bonuses throughout the Valentine’s Day 2023 event in Pokémon GO until it ends on Tuesday, February 14 at 8 pm (local time).
Furfrou with heart ornament.
The first is that throughout the event you can change your Furfrou naturally for Furfrou with a heart decoration. Changing your Furfrou from one Trim to any other Trim costs 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.
On Saturday, February 11, from 2 pm to 5 pm (local time), there will also be limited Luvdisc Field Research tasks available at rotating PokéStops. You can complete them to guarantee a Luvdisc encounter and maybe even get a shiny!
Outside of this shapeshifting and Luvdisc’s field research, decoy modules activated throughout the event will last two hours, and opening gifts will give you double Stardust.
Don’t forget about the bonuses you can receive from the Lovely Wishes timed research mission either! Depending on your choice, completing this quest can give you a bonus related to additional catch XP, additional candy for capturing Pokémon, or the duration of Daily Adventure Incense for the rest of the event.
The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild during the Valentine’s Day 2023 event:
Licking.
- Lazy
- licking
- miltank
- lileep
- Feebas
- Spritzee
- Fomantis
- Alomomola (will not appear as often as other boosted spawns)
You’ll also be able to battle the following Pokémon in raids during the Valentine’s Day 2023 event:
