List of banned Pokémon from Pokémon Go Ultra League Remix
The Ultra League Remix differs from the regular Ultra League in Pokémon Go by a list of banned Pokémon, which was devised from the Pokémon most used by players of Ace rank and above in past Ultra Leagues.

If you’re familiar with the Ultra League, chances are you recognize several of these Pokémon and may even have a few on your team. With popular options like Alolan Muk, Swampert, and Altered Forme Giratina removed from the game, participating in Ultra League Remix means experimenting with different lineups and using Pokémon you may not have considered before.
Remember: all your options must be under 2500 CP, like in normal Ultra League.
The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! The Detective Pikachu Returns event is currently underway. You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
What are some alternative recommendations for Ultra League Remix?
Since the list above eliminates many Ultra League favorites, you’ll need to explore your Pokémon collection to discover creatures that will perform well and fit the 2,500 CP limit.
As with all Go Battle Leagues, these recommendations are not simply based on power, because they have to react to the meta, which is often formed around certain types that perform well against other Pokémon.
At the time of writing, the start of Ultra League Remix, this meta has yet to take shape. Fortunately, all Go Battle leagues, regardless of CP cap, share some similarities in what works and what doesn’t, allowing us to get a good idea of what you can use.
Here are some of our Ultra League Remix recommendations:
Surprisingly, Snorlax is still an option. Despite being a similar option in the Ultra League, Snorlax somehow managed to avoid Remix’s ban hammer. With a moveset consisting of Lick (fast move) and Body Slam and Superpower (charged move), Snorlax can take on Psychic-types and Pokémon like Galarian Stunfisk. Even without these moves, Snorlax will still provide excellent defense that can stop your opponent in their tracks.
Consider having a fighting-type Pokémon on your team. Despite being a popular choice for the Ultra League, Machamp also made it to Remix. This means you can easily make him a staple of your team, whether as a heavy hitter or to force your opponents to use their shield.
You should also consider trying Sirfetch’d or Lucario, as they are good counters to Snorlax.
Explore your legendary collection. Since the ban list only contains four legends, most of these Pokémon are still in play, including Origin Forme Giratina. Good options to consider are Lugia, Deoxys in its defensive form, and Latios.
If you plan on having Mewtwo on your team, we recommend making sure it knows the charged move, Psystrike. This is a legacy move, so unfortunately you may have missed your chance to catch Mewtwo with this charged move. However, if you have a Mewtwo with this move, you will find that its power and short charge time will defeat many enemies.
Lugia, Defense Forme Deoxys, and Latios are all good legendary options.
Experiment with your Community Day Pokémon. These Pokémon tend to be stronger fighters than most thanks to the exclusive Community Day. Starter Pokémon are always a good option, and for this league, a Community Day Machop, which knows Payback, may be a good option.

Season 8 of Pokémon Go Ultra League Remix for Go Battle League will take place between Monday, July 26 and Monday, August 9, starting and ending at the following times:
- United Kingdom – 9:00 pm (BST)
- Europe – 10:00 p.m. (CEST)
- US East Coast – 4 pm (EDT)
- US West Coast – 1:00 pm (PDT)
As with previous special leagues such as Great League Remix, expect this Remix to be a rare event with a chance to return in future seasons.
