Field Research Tasks and everything you need to know about the Team Go Rocket Celebration event in Pokémon Go
During the Team Go Rocket Celebration Event in Pokémon Go, you’ll be able to collect exclusive Field Research Missions by spinning PokéStops. Although these tasks can only be collected during the event, they can be saved and completed afterwards.
These are the field research tasks for the Team Go Rocket celebration event:
- Reward for capturing 7 Poison-type Pokémon: encounter with Gligar
- Purify 3 Shadow Pokémon Reward – Misdreavus Encounter
- Defeat 2 Team Go Rocket Grunts Rewards: Encounter Nidoran (Female) or Nidoran (Male)
- Reward for capturing 15 Dark-type Pokémon: Umbreon encounter

The other major advantage this event has is that any eggs placed inside an incubator during this event will have their hatching distance reduced by half, making this week the perfect time to work on your egg buildup.
There are also a variety of Team Go Rocket bonuses, such as all team leaders having new teams of Pokémon that they will keep once the event ends, and the introduction of new Shadow Pokémon.
These new Shadow Pokémon are:

Swinub, Aron and Spheal are some of the new Shadow Pokémon.
In addition to this, the Strange Egg pool has also been changed, meaning you can expect one of the following Pokémon to hatch from the Strange Eggs you collect:

Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
Dates and times of the Team Go Rocket celebration event in Pokémon Go
As the name suggests, the Team Go Rocket Celebration Event focuses on the infamous criminal team that turned Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon.
Both the Team Go Rocket Celebration Research and the exclusive Field Research tasks are only available during this event, which will take place from Tuesday, February 2, starting at 10 a.m. (local time) and ending on Sunday, the 7th. February at 8 pm (local time).
The Team Go Rocket Celebration research mission consists of two steps, with rewards for each individual challenge and overall mission step. If you want to earn all of these rewards, you need to make sure you complete the Team Go Rocket Celebration research mission before the end of the event or be less at risk of losing the rewards when the research mission disappears.
