The dates and times of the ‘Mega Battle Challenge’ in Pokémon Go explained
The Mega Battle Challenge is a special timed research questline that runs during the Mega Battle event, which itself is part of the celebrations for the release of Mega Evolutions.
‘Mega Battle Challenge’ is only available between Friday, September 11 and Thursday, September 17, starting at 8 am (local time) and ending at 10 pm (local time).
It is important to note that this timed investigation is completely separate from the ‘A Mega Discovery’ special investigation, which will always be available to players.
The Mega Battle Challenge is made up of four mission steps, with each task and general step giving you a variety of rewards once you’ve completed them. The short duration of this research quest is because it is a timed research quest line – if you don’t complete this quest before the deadline, you will never be able to earn all the rewards!

Tips for completing the ‘Mega Battle Challenge’ in Pokémon Go
Here are some tips to help you complete the Mega Battle Challenge Timed Research Mission in Pokémon Go:
- If you’re having trouble finding insect-type Pokémon, try using some incense to attract them to you.
- Using a Mossy Lure at a PokéStop will also help attract more Bug-type Pokémon to your location.
- Don’t forget that Remote Raid Passes work on both regular raids and mega raids, meaning you can participate in both events from the comfort of your home.
- Keep an eye on the skies for Team Go Rocket balloons; Fighting a Team Go Rocket Grunt by flying a balloon is the same as fighting one at a PokéStop.
- If you need more Mega Beedrill energy, complete the research quest ‘A Mega Discovery’!
