Pokémon Go Dialga counters, weaknesses and moveset explained

Dialga, the temporary Pokémon, will occasionally appear from the time vortex to appear in Pokémon Go.

If you want to add Dialga to your legendary collection in Pokémon Go, you need to make sure you know its weaknesses and counterattacks.

As with previous legendary Pokémon such as Palkia and Giratina, Dialga will be available in five-star raids, so if you want to add it to your Pokédex, you’ll have to battle it alongside a group of trainers. Thanks to Remote Raiding, you can do it from home and even from your own bed.

Dialga reappeared during the Season of Go along with the Seattle Oasis Habitat event in July 2022.

Everything we know about Dialga

Originally from the Sinnoh region, Dialga is a member of the Creation Trio, also known as the Deity Trio, along with Palkia and Giratina.

According to legends, these three Pokémon were created by Arceus (i.e. god) in the Spear Pillar, which some believe is the creation point of the entire Pokémon universe. Arceus then gave each member of the trio control over a certain dimension, which, in Dialga’s case, was time.

Arceus created Dialga, Palkia and Giratina.

However, Giratina was banished to the Distortion World due to her violent nature. After this, Arceus would also create the Lake Trio (Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie) to calm Dialga or Palkia if they ever got out of control.

Dialga debuted alongside the rest of Gen 4 in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It is also the mascot Pokémon of the game Diamond, appearing both on the box art and as a character in the story.
