The Desert Mountain Collection Challenge is part of Go Fest 2021 and will only be available until Sunday, July 18 at 6 pm (local time). Additionally, it will only be available to players who have purchased a ticket for this event.
During this challenge, you must hunt down the Pokémon that specifically appear most frequently in the Desert Mountain habitat time.
Here are the 10 Pokémon on the Desert Mountain Collection Challenge roster:
- grow
- geodudo
- Skarmory
- Aron
- cacnea
- trap
- Shield
- hippos
- Skorupí
- Fennekin
All of these Pokémon appear most frequently during the Desert Mountain habitat time.
For completing this challenge, you will receive 1000 Stardust, 20 Ultra Balls, and 1 Incense.

Here are some tips to help you complete the Desert Mountain Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go:
- The best time to complete this collection challenge is during the Desert Mountain habitat hour.
- Don’t forget: this collection challenge will only be available until Sunday, July 18 at 6 pm (local time). If you don’t complete it by this deadline, you will lose your opportunity forever!
- Placing a Lure Module at a PokéStop will attract Pokémon to this area, and special Lure Modules (Rainy, Icy, Magnetic, and Mossy) will attract specific types of Pokémon.
- Use Razz and Nanab Berries to make it easier to catch Pokémon.
- It’s a good idea to target Pokémon with low CP levels to save yourself some PokéBalls.

How the Desert Mountain Collection challenge works in Pokémon Go
Collection challenges in Pokémon Go, which first launched in January 2021, run in conjunction with certain in-game events. Each collection challenge tasks you with finding a specific number of Pokémon through a variety of means.
Once you have completed the Collection, you will be rewarded with a number of items and progress towards your Elite Collector medal.
The Desert Mountain Collection Challenge is part of Go Fest 2021 and will be available until Sunday, July 18 at 6 pm (local time).
Collection challenges are found in ‘Today’s View’, accessed by pressing the field research button (the little binoculars) in the bottom right corner of the screen.
After accessing the “Today View”, you will find the list of Pokémon needed for the collection challenge. Once you’ve found one of these Pokémon, it will be marked on the Collection Challenge rooster, helping you keep track of which ones you’ve caught and which ones you haven’t.
Pokémon will be removed from the collection challenge list as you catch them.
Remember: the collection challenge must be completed before the associated event ends and disappears forever.
