Pokémon Go Deoxys formes, counters, weaknesses and moveset explained

Deoxys, the DNA Pokémon, has landed in Pokémon Go and if you want to defeat it, you need to know its counterattacks and weaknesses.

There are four different forms of Deoxys to collect in Pokémon Go: Attack, Defense, Speed, and Normal. Each one has access to a slightly different set of moves and has slightly different stats, meaning you can’t catch one of them. As we all know now, you have to catch them all…

Like the other legendary Pokémon it shares the Hoenn region with, Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza, Deoxys will be available in five-star raids, so if you want to capture one of its forms, you’ll need a team of fellow Pokémon trainers. . .

Cons and weaknesses of Deoxys in Pokémon Go

There are four different forms of Deoxys to obtain in Pokémon Go. While they have access to slightly different attacks, they all have the same type and therefore what works against one of them will work against the rest.

Here’s what you need to know in order to not only defeat Deoxys, but also add it to your Pokédex:

  • Deoxys Type – Psychic
  • Deoxys is weak against Dark, Ghost, and Bug types.
  • Deoxys Mega Counters: Mega Houndoom or Mega Absol performing Snarl and Foul Play or Dark Pulse; Mega Gengar with Lick and Shadow Ball, or Mega Scizor with Fury Cutter and X-Scissor. While you can also run Mega Banette, Mega Gyarados, Mega Beedrill, or Mega Sceptile, these all have diminishing returns. Mega Houndoom is your best option, thanks to both its statistics and its resistance to psychic-type attacks.
  • Deoxys Counters: Hydreigon, Giratina (Origin, ideally), Darkrai, Phermosa, Hoopa (confined), Gengar, Yveltal, and Guzzlord are your best bets. If you need something more budget-friendly (and less legendary), look for Chandelure, Tyranitar, or Weavile.

Deoxys forms and stats in Pokémon Go explained

The most notable thing about Deoxys is that it has four different forms (Normal, Attack, Defense, and Speed) and each has its own set of stats.

Deoxys attack form.

While they all share the same level of resistance, each form specializes in a different stat. Attack Forme Deoxys obviously comes with the highest attack stat, while Defense Forme Deoxys is somewhat of a tank.

Normal Deoxys has a high attack stat with a low defense stat, although its defense is not as low as Attack Deoxys.

The clear exception is Speed Forme Deoxys, thanks to the lack of a speed stat in Pokémon Go. Instead, Speed Deoxys has a slightly higher attack stat than Defense Deoxys.

Here is the maximum set of CP and stat levels you can reach for each form of Deoxys:

For me Max PC Stroke Defending Endurance
Normal deoxys 3573 3. 4. 5 115 137
Deoxys Attack 2916 414 46 137
Deoxys Defense 2570 144 330 137
Deoxys Speed 3255 230 218 137

Everything we know about Deoxys

Along with Jirachi, Deoxys is one of two mythical Pokémon that come from the Hoenn region. Because it is a Mythical Pokémon, Deoxys cannot be traded in Pokémon Go.

Deoxys form speed.

Known as the DNA Pokémon, Deoxys has the ability to change into four different forms: Normal, Attack, Defense and Speed. This is shown in the double helix shape that his arms take on in their normal form.

Deoxys is also inspired by aliens and, in the Pokémon universe, is believed to have been created by a mutation of a space virus.

Deoxys made its first appearance in the game during Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire as an event-exclusive Pokémon.

Lastly, there is a shiny version of all four forms of Deoxys in Pokémon Go. You can see a preview of the Attack form below, but all four follow the same theme, swapping the orange body with blue highlights for a combination of yellow and green.
