Everything we know about Corsola

Corsola debuted in Pokémon Silver and Gold as part of Gen 2. In Pokémon Go, Corsola is a regional exclusive Pokémon that can be found in tropical areas near the equator.

As you can probably see, both Corsola’s name and appearance were inspired by coral, with this Pokémon being a living Pokémonification of marine invertebrates.

Corsola and Cursola de Galar.

With the release of Gen 8 in Pokémon Sword and Shield, Corsola got both a Galar variant and an evolution: Cursola. Both Pokémon are ghost-types and their appearance reflects this fact, as they both appear to be dead.

Galarian Corsola and Cursola appear to have been inspired by coral bleaching, which is when coral expels the algae that live within its tissue and, in doing so, turns white. Coral bleaching can be caused by several factors, such as a change in temperature or nutrients.

Good luck catching Corsola in Pokémon Go!
