Pokémon Crown Tundra Keldeo: How to find and catch Keldeo, including its moveset in Crown Tundra explained

Keldeo, the Pokémon Colt, hides in the Crown Tundra in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

To locate him, you must first catch the other members of the Swords of Justice quartet: Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion.

Once you’ve caught these three Legendary Pokémon, it’s time to find and catch Keldeo in the Crown Tundra.

How to find Keldeo in Pokémon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra

Before you can find Keldeo in the Crown Tundra DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield, you must first catch the other members of the Swords of Justice quartet: Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion on your team.

Once you’ve done this, you need to head to Lake Ballimere in the southern Crown Tundra region. The quickest way to get to this area is to fly to Dyna Tree Hill.

When you reach Lake Ballimere, you will have to head towards the lake by going down one of the two slopes that surround its shore. Once you’re in the water, head to the small island in the lake.

There you will find two trees and a cooking pot next to one of these trees.

If you head to the pot, you’ll notice a set of footprints from a Pokémon you’ve never seen before. However, I think you know which Pokémon they belong to.

However, before you can summon Keldeo, you need to make sure you have Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion on your team.

Next, you have to set up camp, ideally next to the pot, and prepare a curry; It doesn’t matter what kind of curry you make.

After eating the curry, leave your camp and Keldeo will appear on the island.

Take the time to organize your equipment and save your game, so you can reload your save file if something goes wrong in battle, before fighting Keldeo. You can fight Keldeo without having Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion on your team, so feel free to switch them if you want.

How to catch Keldeo in Pokémon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra explained

The Keldeo you find in the Crown Tundra DLC will be level 65 and is a water and fighting type Pokémon.

Keldeo is weak against Fairy, Flying, Grass, Electric, and Psychic-type Pokémon.

Before attempting to catch Keldeo, make sure you have brought healing items for your team and enough PokéBalls; We recommend around 50 Ultra Balls just to be safe, but you can always use a Master Ball for a guaranteed catch. Just remember: you can’t buy more Master Balls!

You should also take the time to organize your team, especially because while you need Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion on your team to find Keldeo, you don’t need them to fight him. This means you can easily swap out these legendary Pokémon for your preferred team.

However, if you want to keep one, we recommend Virizion, because as long as his level is close to 65, his Leaf Blade attack will deal excellent opening damage to Keldeo.

For your team we recommend having a couple of Pokémon that are around level 65 and have an advantage over Keldeo. This will allow you to deal quick and effective damage, with a reduced risk of knocking out Keldeo.

The rest of your team should be filled with higher-level Pokémon that aren’t weak against Keldeo, so they can act as a buffer while you launch PokéBalls. Ghost-type Pokémon are great buffer options since most of Keldeo’s attacks don’t work on them, so if you’re lucky, you can easily throw PokéBalls without taking any damage.

Paralyzing or putting Keldeo to sleep will also ensure that he does less damage to your team, making him easier to capture. Just make sure you don’t poison or overpower Keldeo to the point of passing out!

It may take you a little while to catch Keldeo, but if you’re careful and keep throwing those PokéBalls, you’ll eventually get there!
