As you level up and advance through the ranks as you complete cases, you will be granted access to a variety of new suits.
In addition to advancing the main cases and side missions, there are a couple more that can be unlocked by completing certain challenges. Some of them simply look stylish, but others also come with special bonuses.
You can change clothes at any time by accessing the pause menu.
With the arrival of the Remastered edition on PS4, Xbox One and Switch, four new outfits have been added to the game, each with their own abilities.
List of LA Noire costumes
Here’s how to unlock the basic set of outfits, found in both the original and remastered editions:
Golden Boy, The Broderick and Sharpshooter: Unlocked when you join the Traffic desk. Sharpshooter increases rifle and pistol accuracy, and The Broderick increases damage and health in close combat.
Button Man – Locate all 20 badges in the Shield Pursuit Challenge to unlock this suit that provides extra ammo for all weapons.
Chicago Lightning: Awarded for using Rockstar Social Club (Rockstar online service) and increases your accuracy with the shotgun, BAR and Thompson rifles.
The following sets are unlocked by increasing your rank by completing cases:
Sword of Justice – Unlocks when you reach Rank 5. Sunset Strip – Unlocks at Rank 8. The Outsider – Unlocks at Rank 13. Hawkshaw – Unlocks at Rank 18.

How to Unlock the Four New Outfits Added in the LA Noire Remastered Edition
In addition to the above, the Switch, PS4 and Xbox One version adds four new outfits after completing certain requirements.
Tough Detective – Collect all the novelty collectibles. There are eight in total, as Gtamen shows in the following YouTube video:
Wearing the suit eliminates a wrong answer during interrogations. Our complete LA Noire tutorial has the full list of what to say during each interview; however, if you don’t feel the need to unlock it.
El Incognito: Complete Vice’s desk without getting caught while tracking a suspect. The perk of this outfit makes it harder to get stuck in future queues.
The Murphy: Complete the Army Obstacle Course in less than three minutes to get it, and when you use it, you no longer have to reload pistols or shotguns, which is very useful during a firefight.
The Untouchable: Dodge 20 hits (we assume in a row) without being hit. Using it prevents you from taking damage during future fistfights.
