How to get Rockruff in Pokémon Go
Rockruff first appeared in Pokémon Go as part of the Alola Season on March 1, 2022, and unlike many others, it cannot be found in the wild.
In its debut, you can get Rockruff in Pokémon Go with 10 km eggs and one-star raids.
With a CP of 3118 in Pokémon Go, Rockruff can be fought alone in a raid, although it is worth carrying some rock counters (fighting, ground, steel) to make the fight easier.
The eggs are more complicated since there is only one chance for Rockruff to appear.
Be sure to look at the contents of the egg to see if Rockruff can also be found inside, as only eggs collected in the Season of Alola debut can contain them.
How to get the Lycanroc Midday and Midnight forms in Pokémon Go
Rockruff has an evolution, Lycanroc, which you can evolve with 50 candies.
There are two possible forms that Lycanroc can take, each with a different additional requirement:
- To obtain Lycanroc’s midday form, evolve it into Rockruff during the day.
- To obtain Lycanroc’s midnight form, evolve into Rockruff during the night.
The time of day and night varies by region; Check the in-game map to find out when it is light and dark, respectively.
This is not unlike how the evolutions of Eevee, Umbreeon, and Espeon work, evolving during the night and day respectively. Of course, there are additional conditions there (having him as a friend and walking a certain distance) which makes Rockruff’s evolutions much easier.
Is Lycanroc’s Dusk form in Pokémon Go?
Lycanroc’s Dusk form is currently not available in Pokémon Go.
It’s probably because Pokémon Go seems to only support day and night evolution times, and a dusk evolution might be possible at some point, or another evolution method could be implemented especially for Dusk to appear.
Either way, there’s technically a form of Dusk in the game files, and we already know what he’ll look like…
