Harry Potter Wizards Unite has announced its second limited-time event: Brilliant Event: Potter’s Calamity.
This event is themed around the main man: Harry Potter.
You can collect Harry Potter-themed Brilliant Foundables to complete the special event page in your Registry.
There are also a series of Potter’s Calamity quest steps that you complete to receive a variety of rewards, including Findables, Experience, and Restricted Section Books, which are vital for leveling up your chosen Profession.

Potter’s Calamity start time and how Brilliant Events work in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
Brilliant Event: Potter’s Calamity is the next limited event for Harry Potter Wizard Unite. However, unlike the previous event, it will be split into two different weeks.
The first week of Brilliant Event: Potter’s Calamity will run from July 16 to 23, with a start time of:
- UK: 7pm (BST)
- Europe: 8:00 p.m. (CEST)
- US East Coast: 2 pm (EDT)
- US West Coast: 11am (PDT)
Once July 23 has passed, you will no longer be able to participate in this event week or claim any of the rewards.
The second week of Brilliant Event: Potter’s Calamity will run from July 30 to August 6, with a start time of:
- UK: 7pm (BST)
- Europe: 8:00 p.m. (CEST)
- US East Coast: 2 pm (EDT)
- US West Coast: 11am (PDT)
When it ends on August 6, you will no longer be able to participate in the event or claim any of the rewards.
Throughout the event there will be a variety of activities to complete, including Special Assignments, 7km Shiny Portmanteaus to open, and Shiny Findables to be found.
Unlike Daily Assignments and SOS, these Special Assignments only appear during a Brilliant Event.
Brilliant Event: Potter’s Calamity quest steps explained
There are eight sets of special assignments in total for Brilliant Event: Potter’s Calamity. Each week of the event has its own set of four Special Assignments and each Special Assignment consists of three different tasks.
Completing one task will earn you one reward, while completing a set of special tasks will earn you three. Remember, you must collect your rewards. before The Brilliant Event ends: July 23 for the first week and August 6 for the second week.
You cannot collect Week One rewards in Week Two and if you leave any rewards unclaimed, they will be lost forever.
First week: from July 16 to July 23:

How to find Shiny Foundables in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
Throughout Brilliant Event: Potter’s Calamity you will be able to add Brilliant Foundables to a special page for the event in your Registry.
You can find this page by opening your Log and then tapping “Events,” which is located in the bottom right corner of the tab.
Each week of Brilliant Event: Potter’s Calamity you will have six Brilliant Foundables for you to collect.

What are glowing footprints in Harry Potter Wizards Unite?
Bright trails only appear during a bright event. As with normal trails, selecting one will take you to a Foundable that needs to be freed from a Confoundable. Only these Foundables will be specific to the Brilliant Event.
Brilliant Traces are purple with an exclamation point and a ray of purple light running through them.
How to Find and Use Shining Runestones in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
As you collect Brilliant Findables and complete Special Assignments, your Brilliant Event Ranking: Potter’s Calamity will increase. When you increase this ranking, you will receive shiny rune stones, which you can use in the magical challenges that can be found in the fortresses.
If you successfully complete a magical challenge while using a shiny runestone, you may be rewarded with a shiny recoverable shard.
What to do with restricted section books in Harry Potter Wizards Unite
Restricted section books are books that can only be obtained during Brilliant Events. Like the scrolls and the red spellbook, they are used to level up your chosen profession and unlock new strategic spells.
You will only receive a certain number of books from the restricted section per Brilliant event, 30 per Brilliant Event: Potter’s Calamity, so make your decisions wisely.
Before you begin your magical adventure, you’ll want to join a Hogwarts House in Harry Potter Wizards Unite. After that, you’ll need to learn how to fight so you can compete in magical challenges in fortresses or how to use greenhouses so you can perform potion master notes. You can also unlock Portmanteaus Portkeys and choose a profession between Auror, Magizoologist or Professor. Don’t forget to participate in the monthly Community Day event either!
Other things you should know about Brilliant Event: Potter’s Calamity:
- Be sure to save two or three silver keys for the 7km Portmanteaus Brilliant Portkey. This will save you a lot of time, especially if you want to complete the Brilliant Potter Calamity Record page; You may not get the Findable you want on your first Portmanteaus Portkey.
- If you are unable to perform a masterful spellcasting, try drinking a stim potion as it will temporarily improve your spellcasting.
- Speed and accuracy are crucial to achieving a masterful spellcast, so choose a spell you are familiar with.
- Take the time to read what each strategic spell does before using those restricted section books; You can only use those precious tomes once.
