The date and time of the Genshin Impact 2.8 live stream has been announced and, as always, will provide information on the upcoming Banner schedule and events included with the free update.
Social media marketing has heavily hinted at a new character in Patch 2.8, but nothing else has been teased or announced, leading to a lot of speculation about possible leaks.
We’ll cover the exact date and time of the Genshin Impact 2.8 live stream below, and also provide all the information we know about the upcoming Banners and their characters from official sources and reliable leaks.

Genshin Impact 2.8 live stream date and time in UK, CEST, EDT and PDT
The Genshin Impact 2.8 live stream begins on Saturday, July 2 at 8 am (UTC-4) on the official Genshin Impact Twitch channel. It will then be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel at 12 pm (UTC-4).
In other time zones, you can watch the 2.8 live stream on the Genshin Impact Twitch channel at:
- United Kingdom: 13:00 (BST)
- Europe: 2:00 p.m. (CEST)
- US East Coast: 8 am (EDT)
- US West Coast: 5 am (PDT)

What to expect from Genshin Impact 2.8 banners
The 2.8 Genshin Impact livestream will provide more details on dates and solid Banner characters, but for now, it’s all but confirmed that Shikanoin Heizou, an Anemo character, will debut at some point during the 2.8 Banner schedule. The official Genshin Impact Twitter provided an image and description of the Inazuma detective, as they often do with upcoming character debuts.

It is unknown if he will debut in Phase 1 or 2, but since Shikanoin Heizou was teased so early, it is likely that he will be scheduled to be on one of the first posters for the event, based on the character’s previous information history. Prominent Genshin Impact leaker lumie_lumie on Twitter also claims that Heizou will debut during the first phase of the Banner.

The same leaker also claims that Klee and Kaedehara Kazuha will be available in the Phase 1 Banners replay with their signature weapons, Lost Prayer and Freedom Sworn, respectively.

Elsewhere, a leaker with a 100% track record of providing future Banner details, who goes by the name Uncle Y, has claimed that a Yoimiya Banner rerun will also be coming after the 2.8 update.

If all of the above information turns out to be true, the characters we will see in update 2.8 include:
- Shikanoin Heizou (Anemo) Debut
- Klee’s Replenishment (5 Star Pyro)
- Kaedehara Kazuha Replenishment (5 Star Anemo)
- Yoimiya Replenishment (5-Star Pyro)
As a reminder, none of these posters and characters have been officially confirmed, so we’ll have to see during the Genshin Impact 2.8 livestream whether the leaks were accurate or not.
