Communication sometimes requires extreme measures, and this is where to place wiretaps in different key locations in Fortnite.
Planting wiretaps in different key locations is the third of the Week 8 legendary missions in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7.
As in recent weeks, the first mission in this set involves using one of the payphones on the Fortnite map, and is followed by the task of collecting a keycard from an IO guard.
Now you will have to place wiretaps in different key locations. The message is important since, although there are different places in each location, you can only plant one in each. This means that you will have to repeat this action two more times in different locations, unlike previous challenges where you could do it all at once.
Completing this challenge will reward you with 30k XP, which will help you unlock more Battle Stars for the Season 7 Battle Pass. You’ll also be able to start the fourth Legendary Mission of Week 8: Interacting with an IO Agent’s Computer.

Where to place wiretaps in different key locations in Fortnite at a glance
There are a total of five locations to choose from, including three IO bases, Corny Complex and Lazy Lake.
Remember, you must conduct a wiretap in three different locations. If you have a car or grab a UFO, you can do it in the same game. But if not, don’t worry, progress will continue.

Now, let’s move on to the exact locations in each of the five areas.
Dirty Docks Wiretap Locations in Fortnite Explained
Let’s start with the IO base near Dirty Docks. Here, we find three different locations to choose from, depending on where you manage to land from the battle bus or just bump into your feet.
You can find the first wiretap location next to a communications tower located in the southwest corner.
There is another point on the right side of the large antenna located to the north.
Lastly, there is a third location next to the tower located right in the southeast corner.
Weeping Woods Wiretap Locations in Fortnite Explained
Towards the IO base near Weeping Woods. We stumbled upon two different spots here, and considering it’s a pretty compact and secluded area, we definitely recommend visiting for the challenge over others if you’re nearby.
The first spot can be found on the right side of the large antenna in the center.
There is another wiretap location in the southwest corner.
Lazy Lake Wiretap Locations in Fortnite Explained
Continuing towards Lazy Lake. We also found two spots here, and they’re both pretty close to each other, so take your pick! In case you have to escape quickly afterwards, you’ll also be close to the outside area.
First, we saw a wiretapping spot on the left side of the southeast pool.
You can find another one just north of this location, next to a metal bench on the side of the road.

Craggy Cliffs Wiretap Locations in Fortnite Explained
Let’s now continue with the IO base near Craggy Cliffs. We found three different locations here, two of them are right next to the towers; If you find yourself near one of them, be sure to stop and place wiretaps before continuing on your adventures.
There is a spot next to the tower in the northwest corner.
You can find a second location in the tower located southeast of the area.
There is also a third point to the south of the area, aligned with the center.
Catty Corner Wiretap Locations in Fortnite Explained
Lastly, we stumbled upon two places in Catty Corner. Note that you should head towards the road that leads to the underground base, and not towards the area itself.
There you will find a spot on the right side of the entrance.
Also, behind the fence there is another place to the left of the road.
That should be it! While there are many options, remember that you only need to wiretap three of these locations.
Once this challenge is completed, you can go ahead and interact with an IO agent’s computer to continue the quest line.
