Animal Crossing Carrots, Potatoes and Tomatoes: Where to find and how to grow carrots, potatoes and tomatoes in New Horizons

You can now grow carrots, potatoes, and tomatoes on your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Once you have harvested these crops, you can use them as ingredients in different cooking recipes to create meals to eat and decorate your island.

First of all, as with wheat, sugar cane and pumpkins, you need to know where to find carrots, potatoes and tomatoes.

Where to find carrots, potatoes and tomatoes in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Carrot seeds, tomato seeds, and potato seeds in New Horizons can be purchased from Leif when he visits your island or from his concession stand on Harv Island.

It’s important to remember that Leif changes stock at his Harv’s Island store every Monday, so if he doesn’t have the vintage you’re looking for, try again next week!

All of these crops can be purchased individually for 280 bells or in a batch of five for 1400 bells.

However, you may have luck sailing with Kapp’n and land on an island containing carrots, tomatoes, or potatoes. If you do, you will find that all plants will have crops ready to harvest, with some offering more than others. You can choose to simply harvest the crops or, using your shovel, dig up the plants and take them back to your island.

Remember: to farm these delicacies, you must first download the free Ver.2.0 patch for New Horizons.

If you plan to grow carrots, potatoes, and tomatoes, then you can also set up a mini-farm on your island in Now Horizons to include wheat, sugar cane, and pumpkins in your farming activities.

Finding the right amount of space may require some rearranging of the island, but when you’re ready, open your inventory and select the crop you want to plant. You will then need to select ‘Plant 1’ to actually plant it in the ground.

Don’t forget to water your carrots, potatoes, and tomatoes after planting them! They will take four days to grow and will do so naturally if you do not water them. However, it is not necessary to water them when it rains or snows.

However, the downside to not watering plants is that they produce the same amount of fruits or vegetables, so if you plan on cooking a lot, we recommend sticking to that daily watering schedule.

All of these crops have been watered every day.

Once you’ve collected a good amount of carrots, potatoes and tomatoes, you can use them in a variety of cooking recipes! Plus, it will only take two days for your crops to grow back, meaning you won’t have to wait long for another harvest.

I hope you enjoy growing carrots, potatoes, and tomatoes in New Horizons!
