Figuring out where to search among the Three Ships is one of Fortnite’s many weekly challenges.
Completing it will give you additional XP to help you earn many Season 3 rewards. Please note that you will need to have a Battle Pass in order to take on this challenge.

Please note that this particular challenge can no longer be completed. What’s new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection, and Eren Jaeger skin. It’s a good idea to know how to get XP quickly in Fortnite.
What does Three Boat Search mean?
For the week 8 challenges, you have the following task:
- Search three ships (1 total, 10 battle stars)
Another one on that week’s list includes dancing on different dance floors and finding a vending machine.
This means that you must find these objects on the map and look between them until you find something. But what?
It turns out that this is a secret treasure. Once you find the location it will appear, then all you have to do is pick it up. Doing so will complete the challenge.

As with other challenges, you must complete them while playing matches (you cannot enter the map without other players), so you will have to avoid combat encounters while trying to find each location.
Keep in mind that you must complete the game in order to finish the challenge; abandoning the game as soon as you collect it will not work.

Location of the three Fortnite ships
The challenge concerns the location of ‘three ships’. If you know the map well enough, you’ll know that the only body of water is Loot Lake (in the northwest corner of the map), and this is exactly where it refers to.
But where exactly is the treasure? It is on the largest island right in the center of the island.
Specifically, you’ll want to find a dock in the south of the island, underneath the house. The treasure will appear as soon as you approach it.
When you do, you’ll see a button asking you to pick it up. Do it and the treasure will be yours.
