Equipping a detector and then disabling an alien billboard in a match is the second of the Week 9 legendary missions in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7.
As in recent weeks, the first mission in this set involves using one of the payphones on the Fortnite map, and is followed by the task of finding one of the new detectors and deactivating an alien sign in a single match. .
This seems like a complicated challenge since it involves two objectives, but fortunately we found a method that will make it as simple as possible.
Completing this challenge will reward you with 45k XP, which will help you unlock more Battle Stars for the Season 7 Battle Pass. You will also be able to begin the third legendary quest of Week 9: collecting resources in Holly Hatchery.
Please note that this particular challenge can no longer be completed. What’s new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection, and Eren Jaeger skin. It’s a good idea to know how to get XP quickly in Fortnite.

How to equip a detector and then quickly disable an alien billboard in a Fortnite match
To complete this challenge, you will have a total of eight locations to choose from. These are all well-known locations on the Fortnite map that you will recognize in no time.
Upon arrival, you will have to equip the alien signal detector from a briefcase and head towards a sign to deactivate it.
You can find the locations at a glance below:
Unfortunately, these places tend to be quite populated, but we found one in particular that is quiet enough to speed up the process.
We headed towards Craggy Cliffs. First, you’ll want to head towards the big house at the top north (either on foot or by landing from the battle bus directly here, which we recommend doing!).
Once in place, all you have to do is open the briefcase that is right in the corner of the balcony to the east. Follow the instructions to equip the Alien Signal Detector and the first step will be taken care of.
From here, you’ll move to the east side of the area, just before you run into the only house there.
You’ll notice a huge sign that will change to show “Send” when you approach it. All that’s left to do is follow the “disable subliminal message” message and the mission will be over.
That should be it! While there are many options, remember that you only need to perform these steps once and the process is the same in any of the locations mentioned above.
