Ghost Ruins and Shadow Ruins locations in Fortnite at a glance

Here are the locations of the Ghost and Sombra ruins on the Fortnite map:

The locations of the Ghost and Shadow ruins in Fortnite.

You must visit three locations to complete this challenge: one set of Ghost ruins and another for the Shadow organization, and due to the distance between these two locations, this challenge will likely take you two games to complete.

It’s possible to visit all three in a single playthrough, but you’ll need a bit of luck finding vehicles, and even then you’ll most likely have to head out into the storm.

We managed to travel from the Shadow ruins to the Ghost ruins, but upon arriving, we were caught in the storm.

Ghost Ruins Location in Fortnite Explained

The Ghost Ruins are by far the easier location of the two to find, because it’s still an interesting landmark on the Fortnite map.

You may remember visiting The Shark’s location during Chapter 2, Season 2, while its ruined remains still exist in the upper northwest corner of the map. Although now it’s called Sharky Shell.

Simply glide overland or take a quick detour to Sharky Shell to revisit this ancient location as part of this challenge.

Shadow Ruins Location Explained in Fortnite

You must visit two sets of Shadow Ruins in Fortnite to complete this challenge.

The first one can be difficult to find because, unlike the Ghost Ruins, it is quite hidden. Because of this, we recommend visiting this location at the beginning of the match and then using one of the nearby ships to reach a more lootable area.

To find the Shadow Ruins, you will first need to fly over the two pools of water, which are located along the coast between Dirty Docks and Retail Row.

Look for these two pools of water.

From there, you’ll want to head to the cliffs themselves and, a little southeast of the pools, you’ll find the remains of the entrance to The Grotto.

Renamed ‘Brutus Basin’ and resembling an abandoned dock, you simply need to land at this location to complete this part of the challenge.

The second set of Shadow Ruins, however, is fairly easy to find: all you have to do is walk towards the closed bunker doors directly to the left of Catty Corner.
