What does it mean to dance with others to raise the disco ball near Loot Lake?

For the week 5 challenges, you have the following task:

  • Dance with others to raise the disco ball near Loot Lake (1 total, 5 battle stars)

Another one this week is the treasure map at the Greasy Grove location.

The challenge is one of the most unique we’ve found so far in Fortnite. While most challenges have solo issues, this leaves you reliant on other players to help you finish it collectively.

First, let’s specify where this disco ball is near Loot Lake. On the west shore of the lake there is a small group of buildings.

Of these buildings, you’ll want to enter the northernmost one.

On the ground floor of this building there is a room with dance floors in each corner and a disco ball in the middle. Players must stand on these dance floors and use a dance emote.

After a certain time, the disco ball will rise to the top and the challenge will be marked as completed.

It’s not easy, but there are some strategies you can employ to help you succeed.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 is here! To help you get started with this heist-themed season, we have guides on how to alert a security camera, protect data from Forecast Towers, and destroy weakened security walls or doors. There’s also a new Victory Umbrella! In the meantime, learn what the best weapons are, the current boosts, how to get XP quickly, how to use the best PC builds, and earn a crown of victory.

How to Dance with Others to Raise the Disco Ball Near Loot Lake

There are some difficulties to this challenge. First of all, we will need a total of four players for it to work, occupying each of the four corners.

When you start dancing, the dance floor will light up and send “energy” to the disco ball in the middle. With all four assets, you will see the disco ball rise.

You need to hold it for a period of time (around 10 seconds) for it to reach the top. Although any gesture works, a dance gesture will be easier as it will continue to animate over time, allowing you to leave it running to pick up the ball. Make sure you bring one with you!

When it is complete, it will be obvious: an animation and sound will play, indicating that it is complete. It took us a little while to get it working, so keep at it and you’ll get there.

The other difficulty, and possibly the greatest, is cooperation. Although we managed to find a group of strangers in a solo game willing to do so, you may have difficulty finding players willing to join in, who will try to defeat you instead. After all, it is a good opportunity for players to get easy and cheap kills.

If you’re playing solo, you’ll have to have some luck finding a group willing to do it. In theory, we are all pursuing the same goal, so we can expect that people will be willing to cooperate. Simply stand on one of the dance floors and start dancing, and others should clearly see what you are there for.

Even if you succeed, be prepared for the party to turn on each other once it’s complete!

Although we haven’t tested this, in theory you can charge in as a squad and complete this without worrying about players attacking you. It still means you’ll have to get to the dance floor without a fight, but assuming you’re alone, it will be much easier.

This method may also be the best way to complete it after the first week of launching the challenge. Since you only need to complete it once, people will quickly move on to other challenges, meaning the number of strangers willing to help will quickly dwindle. But if you have friends willing to help, you can do so at any time.

Whether you finish this or not, there are other challenges this week to complete, including the treasure map in the Greasy Grove location. Best of luck!
