How to prepare for Morgott the Omen King
We won’t lie: Morgott the Omen King is possibly one of the hardest fights in all of Elden Ring, and that’s saying something.
Bearing a striking similarity to Margit the Fell Omen, Morgott is basically like a Super Saiyan version of the boss from the debut story.
Like Margit before him, you’ll want to bring your toughest physical armor into battle against Morgott the Omen King, because he hits like a truck.
Also, be sure to bring Patches’ Margit Shackle with you to the fight, because just as it temporarily knocked down and grounded Margit, it can do the exact same thing to Morgott in this fight.
We also recommend using a remedy for curled fingers outside of boss sand.
Even if there are no player summon signs there, you’ll actually be able to summon none other than Melina for this battle, and she’s very skilled at distracting the boss when you need it.
Morgott the Omen King Tips: How to Beat Morgott the Omen King
Remember the sacred weapons that Margit would summon out of nowhere? You’ll see a lot of that in the fight against Morgott the Omen King. In an attack, the new boss will summon a huge spear and charge at you like in a joust or slam the tip of the spear into the ground in front of you.
Both hits can potentially rack up bleed damage, but both are also countered by dodging the point of impact at the last possible second.
Morgott also loves to perform that dagger and hammer combination that Margit loved so much. This time, however, the boss will throw two rounds of three daggers at you from a distance, before running up and hitting you with the hammer instead of rising into the air.
To counter this, you simply need to dodge the spin sideways to avoid the daggers, and then dodge the spin under the blows of Morgott’s hammer so you can land a decent attack on him.
You’ll see a lot of combo attacks chained together in the fight against Morgott, and they’re intense and fast. The boss will summon the hammer again, and this time he will spin with the hammer in one hand and the sword in the other.
This is probably one of the hardest attack sequences to dodge in the entire fight against Morgott the Omen King, so make sure to time your dodges so that you’re halfway through when the boss actually hits you.
At about half health, Morgott will drop to one knee as if open to a visceral attack. He backs away during this sequence, because he is about to scream and emit a huge shockwave attack, and complete his second phase.
Bubbling water spots will now dot the battlefield, and you must be careful not to step on them, or you will take damage and be exposed to successive attacks from Morgott.
In this second phase, the boss can also unleash a shower of holy swords. He will summon swords pointing towards the ground above him, and this is your cue to back away, as the swords rain down for a good few seconds around him, but will also fan out in straight lines towards the edge of the battlefield. He tries to look slightly up if you are unsure if you are under the path of swords.
Finally, Morgott can infuse bleed damage to his sword during this phase.
It comes in the form of a large slashing attack, but thankfully it’s telegraphed incredibly clearly by the boss holding the tip of his sword back and running towards you. If you dodge just as the sword leaves Morgott’s hand, you should come out of this attack unscathed.
