Elden Ring best armor sets to find in easy early locations

Finding Elden Ring armor sets can be a challenge, as many are trapped behind long quest lines and dungeons.

However, as long as you know where to look, it’s possible to find multiple armor sets without much play time or facing any bosses – perfect if you have yet to level up significantly.

There will be some death-defying journeys into dungeons, high-level areas, or completing short quests, but if you want to find the best armor early to give you a quick defensive boost, the following will help.

Our list of the best Elden Ring armor sets that you can find in the first few easy locations:

Are you looking for some direction? Our pages on what to do first in Elden Ring, the Elden Ring walkthrough, Siege of Grace locations, and main bosses in order can help.

Elden Ring Side Quests for Beginners – Side Quests You Need to Do

To help you navigate, we recommend that you first find all map fragments from the initial game.

How to get the Royal Remains armor set

Finding the Royal Remains set involves a short quest that should take about 15 minutes to complete. Stat-wise, depending on your starting class, the Royal Remains set may not be a huge step up (at least for our Vagabond), but it has two attractive qualities; his appearance with the skull-shaped helm and an upgrade that slowly replenishes HP.

You’ll want to visit the Albinaur Village, which is located in the south of the Lyurnia of the Lakes region. If you haven’t completed Castle Stormveil yet, you can skip the dungeon and access the lakes early by going to the bridge that runs south to north next to the castle, and where it ends, jump to the rocks on the left and follow the path. that winds along the cliff towards the north:

The Albinaur Village is hidden beneath the cliffs, so travel along the lake shore from the southeast until you reach a dark cavern with a bridge above.

From here, we go up the path on the left until we reach the town’s Sitio de Gracia.

Head east from Sitio de Gracia and climb the hill. There will be an enemy ahead and a hut to the left. Take down the enemy; If you don’t, he can chase you to the NPC we’re about to talk to, and then continue up the cliff to your right.

There will be a flower pot along the right wall. Hit it once to reveal an NPC who will give you the secret Haligtree medallion (right). If the NPC dies, either from your own attacks or from an enemy, the item will drop here.

Now head to Roundtable Hold. (If you haven’t unlocked this, visit the Site of Grace right before Margit’s fight and rest.) With the Medallion in your possession, Ensha of the Royal Remains will invade you here, approaching from the left.

We found casting spells here to be difficult with little room to fight, and instead focused on waiting for an easy-to-spot magic-based hit to get an opening, and you’ll be transported to the “original” Round Table. once the battle is over.

Now go through the leftmost passage from where you start and approach the door, which will now be open.

To the right of the door will be the Royal Remains set, which includes a helmet, armor, gauntlets, and greaves.

How to get the Sage armor set

If you’re a magic user, then it’s worth picking up the Sage armor set, consisting of Sage Hood, Sage Robe, and Sage Pants, giving you a significant boost to magic and elemental defense, better immunities, and a load of lighter equipment.

You can find the Sage armor inside Stillwater Cave in the south of the Liurnia of the Lakes region. If you haven’t completed Castle Stormveil yet, you can skip the dungeon and access the lakes early by going to the bridge that runs south to north next to the castle, and where it ends, jump to the rocks on the left and follow the path. that winds along the cliff towards the north:

Starting at the Sitio de Gracia on the shore of Lake Liurnia, head southeast along the water. At the end of the lake, pass the rock where the jellyfish are and you will reach the entrance to Stillwater Cave.

Equip a torch and head into the dungeon. You’ll want to keep the wall to your right until you find a mage at the end of the cliff and another pair across a small gap directly ahead.

Jump across the gap, past the two wizards, and down the hallway.

You will emerge into a cavern with a poisonous lake and a corpse right in front of you. This is where you will find the armor set.

Note that doing so will see multiple winged beasts descend on you, so while it is possible to quickly obtain the armor, die, and return to the dungeon, if you want to survive, try to take them out first.

If you were interested in the other items in the room, there is a Serpent Arrow and a Golden Corridor (5).

How to get the Carian Knight armor set

The Carion Knight armor set is located inside the second main dungeon, Raya Lucaria Academy.

The good news is that the armor can be accessed without having to face any bosses; you can reach Liurnia of the Lakes without having to complete Castle Stormveil (watch the video below to learn how to do this) and then you must locate the Glintstone Key and use it to enter the Academy.

The journey from the Site of Grace to the start at Raya Lucaria Academy can be seen in the video below, or in text and images below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ttFkZdCBE

From the second Site of Grace, called Iglesia del Cuco, located in a hallway to the left of where you first enter the Academy proper, you will come to a cemetery area.

Follow the path here, cross the bridge and take the path up the hill until you see the next building on your right:

Walk behind it to find a cliff, and if you look down you’ll see a tomb on the edge, with an item and several enemies in front of it.

Interacting with the item will give you the full Carian Knight set: a helm, armor, gauntlets, and greaves.

Alternatively, you can reach this point by following the critical path, and at the bridge with the moving platforms on the right, you can go down and walk along the edge of the cliff.

Once you’ve decided on a starting class and a starting keepsake item, you first need to figure out how to level up, how to respec, and how to use Ashes of War. Do you need any directions from there? Our Elden Ring walkthrough and Elden Ring boss order can help you know where to go next, but we also recommend looking for Golden Seeds, Sacred Tears, Crystal Tears, Talismans, and some of our top weapon and armor picks. If you are nearing the end of the game, we can help you with the Volcano Manor and Rykard quest, the Haligtree Secret Medallion locations, solving Ordina, the Liturgical Town puzzle, Millicent’s quest, Commander Niall, Morgott, Godskin Duo , Maliketh and Malenia.

How to get the Cleanrot armor set

If you want a significant stat boost over your starting class gear, then the Cleanrot armor set is the way to go. Unlike the other methods above, Cleanrot armor is farmed piece by piece by killing Cleanrot Knights, so it requires more time and effort than most.

That said, between our recommended farming point being pretty easy with the right steps and the fact that the armor is strong and comes with good immunity properties, we’ve decided it’s worth adding to this list.

To find the Cleanrot armor you must defeat the Cleanrot knights. They can be found in multiple locations, including as a boss in Stillwater Cave, the location of the Sage armor set mentioned earlier on this page, but you can find multiple spawns quickly in the Aeonia Swamp.

You can quickly reach this location from the beginning of the game by going west to Lake Agheel and finding an underground chest that will teleport you to the Caelid region. You can see where it is, how to escape the cave you’re transported to, and where to find the Aeonia Swamp Site of Grace in the video below:

From the Aeonia Swamp Grace Site, you’ll find several Cleanrot Knight spawns nearby. Our recommendation is to head south to the giant tree stump, and once ‘in’, turn right to find one just around the corner.

What makes it particularly useful is that the branches can help block the knight’s magical attacks, if placed correctly, allowing you to keep your distance and use a staff to reduce his health. You can also stand on the banks more easily here to avoid Scarlot Rot damage from the swamp itself.

Once defeated, there is no guarantee that they will drop any Cleanrot armor, so now return to the Site of Grace and repeat until you earn every piece. Once you complete the encounter, you will be able to defeat the knight in about a minute. It’s not the best rune farming method, but compared to most of the early game enemies it’s decent, so consider it a secondary benefit.

The time it takes to get the armor depends on luck, but even a drop gave us a respectable stat boost, and the more you get, the more you can resist Scarlet Rot damage from the area with the armor’s immunity to speed things up.

Good luck finding the armor you need!
