Smash everything!

Not only do you get additional loot from destroying items like vases and armor, but anything you break also increases the meter required to perform abilities in Diablo 4. This can help you maintain this ability meter until you encounter a group of enemies. again.

We found this particularly useful while playing as a Barbarian, since his Fury ability meter depletes when not in use.

Yes, you can even squash these nasty little things to keep your skill meter up.

Use pins to guide you

A marker adds a follow icon, but pins also draw a line to your target destination on your main and mini maps, ensuring you don’t have to check the map every five seconds to make sure you’re on the right track.

You can time potions drop by looking at a boss’s health bar.

Getting just one or two extra potions during a boss fight can mean the difference between life and death in Diablo 4, so if you want to know whether or not you should make that risky move while low on health, look at the health bar first. Boss’s health !

The little triangles on your health bar mark when the boss will drop you some precious potions.

Speaking of potions…

Don’t forget to upgrade your potions.

Unless you have a useful ability or legendary ability that allows you to constantly heal yourself, potions are your best friends while exploring Sanctuary, so remember to improve the health they give you!

Go to Alchemists in cities and towns like Kyovashad. Here you will be able to exchange certain materials to improve your potions as long as you have a high enough level.

In order to improve your potion capacity, you will need to earn some Renown.

Focus on completing the story.

It’s worth doing side activities in each region to increase your renown until you get potion capacity rewards, but after this, we recommend that you wait until you get a mount and complete the story before progressing through each quest and collectible location.

Getting a mount allows you to get through Sanctuary much faster, and you can’t claim the higher Renown rewards until you unlock World Tier 3 after the story anyway.

Remember to repair equipment after dying.

It’s easy to forget to repair gear, but it’s worth spending the gold to do so, as running around with damaged armor means enemies can kill you more easily. This is especially important when facing tough bosses, so it is recommended to visit the blacksmith before a big fight.

Play in groups to get extra XP

Although technically the game becomes more difficult when you play in a group, in practice it is much easier. The enemy’s toughness is increased, but you have at least one other person to tear the place apart with. As long as your co-op partners don’t let you do all the work, teaming up is a great way to maximize your XP gains.

Just remember to stay close to each other, or the XP boost won’t work.

Salvage, don’t sell!

Until you complete the story and reach the endgame in Diablo 4, we don’t recommend selling your items, as salvaging them for resources is much more useful to you in the long run, since you need these materials when crafting. Yes, you need gold too, but you get it all the time while killing enemies and completing quests, so salvaging it is the best option until you find out you need extra money later on.

As a bonus, when you retrieve an item, its appearance will now be available through the transmog system.

transmogrify is free

On the subject of transfiguration, it’s free! Simply go to the wardrobe symbol on your map while in a city like Kyovashad and you will be able to choose what style and color of clothing and weapons you want to slay demons with.

The ‘Back Trophy’ tab of the Transmog screen is also where you can equip cosmetics on your character’s back, like the ridiculously cute wolf cub rewarded for playing the beta.

Don’t ignore world events

We’ve already gone over all the ways you can get them on our page dedicated to Murmuring Obols, but in short, the best and fastest way is by participating in World Events, areas marked with orange circles on your map.

Why do you need Murmuring Obols? They’re Diablo 4’s versions of Blood Shards from Diablo 3 (bye-bye, Kadala), which means you spend Obols at a Curiosity Vendor vendor in cities for a chance at legendary gear.

It’s not a great opportunity, but since Obols are so easy to get in World Events, it’s highly recommended that you spend them when you can.

Play world tier 1 until you get a good team.

Basically you will probably die a lot in world level 2 and take a lot longer to kill enemies as you progress through the story. Unless you don’t mind the challenge and are in no rush to complete the story, start your journey through Sanctuary at world level 1.

You get less XP, but the time it takes you to do something is greatly reduced, meaning you rack up XP better without even trying.

When things get boringly easy, it’s time to move up to World Tier 2!

Don’t forget your personal portal

Waypoints are your primary method of fast traveling, but if you press ‘T’ on PC or down on the d-pad if you’re playing with a controller, you can open a portal directly to a major city at any time except on certain cases. key boss fights.

If you can’t pick up any more loot, for example, quickly teleport back to town, retrieve the equipment you don’t want, then use that portal to return to where you left off and pick up the new loot.

Just be careful not to leave a city after using a portal, or it will disappear.

Keep gems and gear for other classes in your stash.

Each region has a chest called a “stash”, which shares the content you place in it. If you find a good weapon or armor piece for another class and it’s not worth salvaging, keep it in your stash for when you start a new game as another class. It will really help you during the early stages.

It is also recommended to put your gems and skulls in your stash to socket them later.

Don’t walk back to the exit of a dungeon.

You can exit a dungeon by using the map and selecting the exit to fast travel, or by using the “Exit Dungeon” option on the action wheel.
