Pokémon Go Community Day is a recurring monthly event that highlights a specific Pokémon and encourages players to get out and play together around the world.

What is Community Day in Pokémon Go?
Community Day takes place one weekend each month and lasts a total of three hours.
In addition to increasing the spawn of Featured Pokemon, there are bonuses during that time period, such as double XP, Stardust, or Lure Modules, as additional incentives to get out and play, including the fact that Featured Pokemon have a higher chance to be shiny. . , and the ability to reach the evolution of the highlighted Pokémon with an exclusive move.
It’s a great way to get resources and a rare version of the featured Pokemon, but as the name suggests, it’s a great way to team up with other players.

Here’s everything you need to know about Community Day in August:
Featured Pokemon: Froakie
Date: Sunday August 13
Time: 2pm to 5pm local time
Bonus 1: Triple Stardust Capture
Bonus 2: Double Catch Candy
Bonus 3: Double chance to receive XL Candy when catching Pokémon for players level 31 or higher
Bonus 4: Decoy Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
Bonus 5: Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
Bonus 6: Between 2pm and 10pm local time, operations will require 50% less Stardust
Bonus 7: An additional Special Operation can be performed between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM (local time), for a total of two Special Operations that day.

Bonus 9: Event-themed stickers earned by spinning PokéStops, opening gifts, or purchasing them from the in-game store.
Evolution Exclusive Move (Greninja): Hydro Cannon (Water-type Charged Attack). Starting this Community Day onwards, Greninja will also be able to learn Water Shuriken, a fast Water-type attack.
Bonus Raids: From 5pm to 10pm on Community Day, you’ll be able to battle Frogadier in four-star raids. If you defeat one of these Pokemon in a four-star raid, Froakie will spawn in the gym that housed it for 30 minutes and have the same increased glow rate as those that spawned during Community Day.
You cannot join these raids using a Remote Raid Pass.
How useful is this Community Day?
When it comes to how useful this Community Day is in terms of the Go Battle League, Greninja, as cool as it looks, sadly doesn’t carry much weight in any league. While its new moves may change the meta slightly, we doubt it’s enough to propel Greninja into the upper ranks of powerful Pokemon.
The good news, however, is that this Community Day is fantastic for shiny hunters, as it sees the release of shiny Froakie, Frogadier, and Greninha in Pokémon Go. How to prepare for Pokémon Go Community Day
First of all, the secret draw of Community Day is the introduction of a shiny version of the featured Pokémon, which will have an improved rate during the event. That, combined with the increased spawns, makes it easy to get a handful of glows throughout the six hours.
Remember, unlike high IV Pokémon, shiny ones don’t spawn in the same place for everyone as high IV Pokémon; there is a random chance that each one you find will be a shiny. If you’re having a hard time, try doing a ‘shiny check’ by tapping on a Pokemon, then backtrack without catching it, then move on to the next one.
Second, there will be additional field research. Community Days also have their own special Field Research tasks based on the specific Pokémon that the day highlights. The rewards are usually just consumable items (berries and the like), but it’s something extra that you need to complete while playing the game.
Third, each Community Day offers 3 hour lures. This is the perfect day to catch as many Pokemon as physically possible, and with the higher spawn rate, it increases your chances of finding a shiny.
The best way to take advantage of these bonuses is to find a set of PokéStops that are within walking distance or of each other. You can then set up a decoy module on one (or several) and then walk between the PokéStops; taking advantage of the Lure and trying not to run out of Poké Balls or Berries.
It’s also an ideal time to experiment with a Glacial Lure, Mossy Lure, or Magnetic Lure Modules. These special lures attract a specific type of Pokemon depending on the lure chosen. There are also specific bonuses for each Community Day, from reduced hatching distance to increased Stardust and XP. Even without the bonuses, remember that Community Day is a chance to catch a lot of creatures in a short amount of time, which is useful if you want to beat the egg stack on your list or lay a lucky egg or piece star to increase their earnings from the catches.
