What is Community Day in Pokémon Go?

Community Day takes place one weekend each month and lasts a total of three hours.

In addition to increasing the spawn of Featured Pokemon, there are bonuses during that time period, such as double XP, Stardust, or Lure Modules, as additional incentives to get out and play, including the fact that Featured Pokemon have a higher chance to be shiny. . , and the ability to reach the evolution of the highlighted Pokémon with an exclusive move.

It’s a great way to get resources and a rare version of the featured Pokemon, but as the name suggests, it’s a great way to team up with other players.

Community Days are a great opportunity to attack and trade with others, at a safe and responsible distance of course.

You may find that other Pokémon Go players will be with you, which could make it easier to coordinate to complete raids or make trades, so keep that in mind during the period.

Bonus Raids: From 5pm to 10pm on Community Day, you’ll be able to battle Frogadier in four-star raids. If you defeat one of these Pokemon in a four-star raid, Froakie will spawn in the gym that housed it for 30 minutes and have the same increased glow rate as those that spawned during Community Day.

You cannot join these raids using a Remote Raid Pass.

How useful is this Community Day?

When it comes to how useful this Community Day is in terms of the Go Battle League, Greninja, as cool as it looks, sadly doesn’t carry much weight in any league. While its new moves may change the meta slightly, we doubt it’s enough to propel Greninja into the upper ranks of powerful Pokemon.

The good news, however, is that this Community Day is fantastic for shiny hunters, as it sees the release of shiny Froakie, Frogadier, and Greninha in Pokémon Go. Thanks to the increased chances of shine, it will be much easier to catch these new shiny Pokémon during Community Day outside of it, so we recommend spending some time looking for these variants if you want them in your collection.

As always, and especially when it comes to Community Days for starter Pokémon, this event is fantastic for newcomers, as it gives them (or you) an excellent opportunity to catch a Pokémon that can be quite difficult to catch. find in nature.

Lastly, the triple catch Stardust bonus should not be overlooked. Whether you’re running low on Stardust or have a Pokémon you want to power up, this Community Day is worth taking part in even for a while so you can take advantage of this bonus.

How to prepare for Pokémon Go Community Day

First of all, the secret draw of Community Day is the introduction of a shiny version of the featured Pokémon, which will have an improved rate during the event. That, combined with the increased spawns, makes it easy to get a handful of glows throughout the six hours.

Remember, unlike high IV Pokémon, shiny ones don’t spawn in the same place for everyone as high IV Pokémon; there is a random chance that each one you find will be a shiny. If you’re having a hard time, try doing a ‘shiny check’ by tapping on a Pokemon, then backtrack without catching it, then move on to the next one.

Second, there will be additional field research. Community Days also have their own special Field Research tasks based on the specific Pokémon that the day highlights. The rewards are usually just consumable items (berries and the like), but it’s something extra that you need to complete while playing the game.

Third, each Community Day offers 3 hour lures. This is the perfect day to catch as many Pokemon as physically possible, and with the higher spawn rate, it increases your chances of finding a shiny.

The best way to take advantage of these bonuses is to find a set of PokéStops that are within walking distance or of each other. You can then set up a decoy module on one (or several) and then walk between the PokéStops; taking advantage of the Lure and trying not to run out of Poké Balls or Berries.

It’s also an ideal time to experiment with a Glacial Lure, Mossy Lure, or Magnetic Lure Modules. These special lures attract a specific type of Pokemon depending on the lure chosen. If you wanted to catch water or ice Pokémon, for example, then you would use a Glacial Lure module. These specialized lure modules cost 200 PokéCoins in the in-game store.

There are also specific bonuses for each Community Day, from reduced hatching distance to increased Stardust and XP. Even without the bonuses, remember that Community Day is a chance to catch a lot of creatures in a short amount of time, which is useful if you want to beat the egg stack on your list or lay a lucky egg or piece star to increase their earnings from the catches.

Remember, if there is a hatch fee deducted, you will only get a bonus for the eggs you place in the incubators during the Community Day bonus hours. If you have an egg in an incubator. before When the event starts, the hatching distance remains the same. Also, if you don’t hatch it before the event ends, it will stay at that reduced distance until you do, so it’s worth getting one last one in before the event ends!

Also, before the event itself, it might be worth stockpiling Pinap Berries and Great or Ultra Balls. Pinaps will increase your candy earnings, useful for evolving and powering up after the event ends, and you’ll actually be able to burn Poké Balls over the course of the event. If you run out, tap PokéStops or complete the newly added Field Research that appears.

Finally, be sure to evolve the highlighted Pokémon to its third evolution for an exclusive move. More on this in the next section…

The Hidden Gems Season is coming to an end. Before it ends, try to finish the special research missions Fascinating Facets and Sky High. You can also complete a route and fight in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to run into Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Classic Pokémon Go Community Day List: List of all exclusive moves

Classic Community Day events in Pokémon Go highlight a Pokémon from the previous Community Day and, like the regular event, offer you a chance to get a Pokémon with an exclusive attack.

The rules for obtaining this exclusive move are also exactly the same: you must reach the final evolution of the chosen Pokémon, and said evolution must take place during the event or within the first two hours after it ends.

These moves may not always be the best move for this Pokemon, but if you want to and miss the event, you can always use an Elite TM in the final evolution to teach them the move.

Hope you enjoy the upcoming Community Day!
