Destiny 2 Horror Story god roll and drop location

Horror Story is a legendary auto rifle that appears in Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost.

It is an extremely accurate automatic rifle, capable of causing sustained damage at long ranges, an unusual archetype for weapons of this type.

This page will detail how to get Horror Story in Destiny 2 and which Horror Story divine rolls will help you strike fear into the hearts of your opponents.

How to get a horror story in Destiny 2

Horror Story is one of the original weapons of the Lost Weapons Festival and remains available exclusively through that annual event.

Unlike other Festival of the Lost weapons, such as Mechabre, there are no quests or event challenges that directly reward Horror Story. Instead, the only way to receive Horror Story is as a random drop at the end of a Haunted Lost Sector.

All you can do is repeatedly run Haunted Lost Sectors until completed. The good news is that the Festival of the Lost weapon drop rates are very high and the Haunted Lost Sectors don’t take long to finish, so farming is quite efficient.

The Season of the Depths is here along with the Into the Depths quest. You can also know how to go fishing! Don’t forget to keep an eye on the Lost Sector and King’s Fall challenge rotation schedule!

Horror Story Divine Roll Recommendation in Destiny 2

Horror Story has existed in one version or another for several years and currently has no origin feature. Instead, Guardians must rely on a favorable combination of random perks to make Horror Story an especially useful auto rifle.

A Horror Story ‘god roll’ will have an ideal set of perks that work well in combination with each other. While Horror Story is exceptionally easy to use, its base damage is somewhat lacking. Instead, a great version of this weapon focuses on utility, particularly for challenging content like Legendary Lost Sectors.

Here’s our recommended Mechabre god roll in Destiny 2:

  • SSF telescopic sight
  • Curized rounds
  • Ambitious killer
  • Osmosis

Rifle Scope SSF is a middle ground between the standard low zoom optic and the longer zoom Rifle Scope ST. Like the ST version, the Rifle Scope SSF has greater zoom and range, but has a much smaller handling penalty, making it an excellent automatic rifle for fighting at a distance.

Accurized Rounds simply increase Horror Story’s range. Given the improved zoom of the scope, this weapon starts to become extremely competent at medium-long range.

The ambitious Assassin may be a somewhat controversial choice; Conventional wisdom would tend to prefer constant smaller Subsistence refills. However, Ambitious Assassin rewards careful planning, as he overfills the magazine after reloading after a kill. This is perfect for getting a few kills, taking cover while healing, and then attacking again with a huge amount of bullets that can be fired without interruption.

Osmosis is the final piece that makes Horror Story a great game for endgame content. Higher level activities will often crash your computer. Osmosis imbues fired rounds with the same element as your class, giving you a third type of damage you can deal to match enemy shields.

As usual, once you have your preferred roll, be sure to upgrade it to Masterwork to give it a stat boost, the ability to spawn orbs on multiple kills, and add the option for a kill tracker.
