Destiny 2 Eliksni Quarter community event rewards and how to farm Captain’s Coins

Eliksni Quarter is a community event in Destiny 2 to end the Season of the Plunder.

Guardians around the world are asked to participate in a shared mission, donating treasure in the form of Captain’s Coins to improve the living conditions of Eliksni refugees in the Eliksni neighborhood of the Last City.

This guide will detail how to earn and spend Captain’s Coins and what rewards you can expect to receive for your trouble.

How the Eliksni Ward community event works in Destiny 2

To start participating in the Eliksni Quarter community event, you must visit the chest located in the Tower as soon as you appear.

This gives you A Rising Tide, a quest that asks players to donate treasure, with both individual and community rewards for participating.

The steps to start A Rising Tide in Destiny 2 are:

  • Visit the Tower and access the Donation Chest
  • Collect a Captain’s Coin, which can be found in Ketchcrash, Expeditions, Destiny Chests, Lost Sectors, Public Events, Dares of Eternity, and King’s Fall.
  • Deposit your coin(s) into the Donation Chest

How can you see how things are progressing?

How to Track Progress at the Eliksni Neighborhood Community Event

UPDATE (November 24): After just over a day, the community event is complete, meaning all steps of the A Rising Tide quest can be completed.

Although this means that community contribution rewards have been reached, personal contributions are still available. Remember, you can donate materials if you prefer, which will allow you to speed up the process if you prefer not to do the Captain’s Coin routine. We don’t blame you!

ORIGINAL REPORT: Each time a new donation milestone is reached, more of the Eliksni neighborhood will be improved and A Rising Tide will make even more progress. There are nine steps in total in the quest that the Guardians must complete.

You can see the progress by looking at the chest screen, where progress figures are displayed at the bottom right, updating every 15 minutes.

In addition to a total figure in the bottom title, it also shows all the available blocked steps and their various requirements.

Alternatively, there is a fan-made website, eliksni.charity, which gives you an up-to-date record of steps as well as ETA.

How can you speed this up? By finding the event currency: Captain’s Coins.

How to Farm Captain’s Coins in Destiny 2

Hundreds of millions of Captain’s Coins will be needed to complete A Rising Tide. While you won’t be responsible for collecting them all on your own, accumulating coins efficiently can still save you time, especially if you’re looking for individual rewards. There are many ways to farm Captain’s Coins, but not all sources are created equal.

Here’s approximately how many Captain’s Coins you can expect from activities, based on our testing and some crowd-sourced information:

  • Destiny Chests (3)
  • Heroic Public Events (14)
  • Lost Sectors (14)
  • Challenges of eternity (35)
  • Strike (35-50, depending on difficulty)
  • Ketchcrash and Expeditions (50)
  • King’s Fall Raid (340 total, split unevenly at each checkpoint)

Although Bungie has mentioned that you can get Crucible and Gambit rewards, in our experience, even with the event-specific emblem equipped, we had a hard time getting them, so don’t rely on these sources for now.

Our recommendation for farming Captain’s Coins is the lost sector of Widow’s Walk in Trostland of the EPZ. The entire Lost Sector can be cleared in 30-60 seconds, giving you around 14 Captain’s Coins per minute.

All you need to do is run in, kill the boss, open the chest, then run or fast travel back to Trostland and repeat. It is extremely fast and very effective.

Where to find Widow’s Walk in the EPZ.

Alternatively, especially since Bungie tends to nerf the above method during these types of events, we spoil the destination chests that are fairly easy to find. Choose a patrol area you like, use the Ghost mod that allows you to see them from a distance, and explore on a loop.

It’s not as fast, but it feels a little less silly, especially if you can pick off some plant rewards as you go.

Using the parts of a complete emblem is also supposed to help earn coins, although it’s not very clear exactly how much it helps. Still, it’s worth putting it on just to be safe, if your goal is to farm Captain’s Coins.

All personal rewards from the Eliksni Quarter event in Destiny 2

While helping your fellow four-armed bipeds is a reward in itself, there are some tangible incentives to participating in this community activity. Personal rewards are delivered in regular increments based on your individual contributions.

Those rewards are:

  • Parts of a complete emblem (1 donated treasure)
  • Enhancement Core (300 donated treasures)
  • Upgrade module (600 donated treasures)
  • Eliksni Neighborhood Gift Box (1000 donated treasures)
  • Upgrade Prism (1400 donated treasures)
  • Ascending Fragment (1800 donated treasure)
  • Swordsman Shell (2400 donated treasures)
  • The swordsman’s shell.

Naturally, all of this adds to the real prize, the joy on the faces of all the Eliskni you help by donating the treasure.

Of course, no one will blame you for wanting to help yourself to some new toys while you’re at it, like a shiny new BxR-55 Battler, or a sweet new exotic from the current Lost Sector Legend and Master.
