Destiny 2 Born in Darkness quest steps: How to complete Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4 explained

Destiny 2’s Born in Darkness is a questline that opens after completing the Beyond Light campaign.

The mission serves two functions. Its main goal is to upgrade your newly unlocked Stasis subclass, giving you access to two new grenades, both exceptionally powerful, as well as a new skin.

The other function is to delve into the story of the Exo Stranger, who will give you the quest once the Beyond Light story has concluded.

Throughout each part of Born in Darkness, players will learn where the Stranger came from, who her family is, and where she might be headed in the future. New story, new stat abilities – this questline has a little bit of everything.

How to complete Darkborn: Part 1 in Destiny 2

So, you’ve completed the Beyond Light campaign and the Exo Stranger has given you the Born in Darkness questline.

This isn’t very difficult, but it is quite long, so buckle up.

Your first step is self-explanatory. You only need to get 50 Energized Ether from Fallen on Europa, and at the same time take 10 melee final blows from Stasis. It’s as simple as it seems. There are many fallen in Eventide Ruins, as well as the Lost Sector in Asterion Abyss, Concealed Void.

If you’re struggling to regain your Stasis melee ability quickly enough, if you have access to it, equip the Monte Carlo. Return your melee quite often.

Next, it’s time to strike. The text on this card is key. The three Strikes you must complete can be any strike. Unfortunately, the 50 fighters you need to hit with Stasis must be in the attack playlist. You can also use the new exotic Grasp of Salvation, which you get from another post-campaign quest, to help you with Stasis abilities.

However, if you find that you have completed the last part of the mission earlier and still have attacks that need to be completed, you can do either. If this is the case and you want maximum efficiency, jump into the Lake of Shadows. It is the shortest stroke.

Once you’ve done that, head back to Europa and head to your left towards Cadmus Ridge. Your waypoint should take you to Eternity and an enemy boss called Weniks, the Elite of Salvation. Kill him and his cronies to progress.

Once he is killed, fast travel back to Charon’s Crossing and head to Eventide Ruins. Once there, enter the lost sector of bunker E15. Here’s a refresher on the location if you need it:

Run it as usual and eliminate the final boss. Once you’ve done so, your tracker should guide you to a room connected to the final room. There you will meet the Stranger. Use the master key and listen to the story from him.

Finally, return to the Stranger at the Beyond fast travel point. Now you’re down with Part 1.

At this point, you are assigned the Aspect of Control quest step.

How to complete Darkborn: Part 2 in Destiny 2

For Part 2, it’s time to do it all again, just with a few adjustments. First, you must kill 50 Vex and take 20 Stasis final blows.

There are many Vex in Cadmus Ridge and Asterion Abyss. You can also simply execute the Bunker E15 Lost Sector entry once more.

Once again, the Salvation’s Grip exotic will quickly remove the shattered part.

Once you’re done, you have a few options. You can choose any playlist activity you want, whether it’s Gambit, Heists, or Crucible (or a combination of all three). You have to complete three activities and also affect 60 combatants with Stasis. Guardians also count more than a normal enemy.

It’s worth noting that Strikes and Gambit need to be completed for different parts of this questline. So if you were looking for a time to fit into some Crucible, now would be the time.

Next, head as far north as you can in Europe to reach the fallen base, Riis-Reborn. Your tracker should lead you to a boss called Meliks, Salvation’s Elite. Eliminate him and his squad from existence and continue to the next step.

Fast travel back to Charon Crossing and head left towards Cadmus Ridge. When you are there, enter the Lost Sector of Doom. Here’s a refresher on where to find the entrance:

Once inside, kill the boss and follow your tracker once again to the Stranger and give him a skeleton key. Again, take the time to enjoy the story.

Now, head back to the Exo Stranger and it’s time to get a genuine reward. Once you talk to her, she will give you a new stasis grenade called Duskfield Grenade. Is awesome. Use it.

How to complete Darkborn: Part 3 in Destiny 2

Alright, time for the last part. Again the steps will be familiar. The first step is to kill 30 Vex and 30 Fallen.

After all this wandering, you should have a good idea of where to find them. While doing that, you must also affect 20 enemy combatants with Stasis.

Next, you need to prepare your Gambit team. Complete three Gambit matches and hit 60 combatants with Stasis. Once again, Salvation’s Grip will help you a lot here if you have it.

It’s time for you to find the last of the three Salvation bosses. This time you will return to Eternity, but to a different part. Fast travel to Charon Crossing once again, back to Cadmus Ridge and the Bray Tech area. Follow your tracker until you encounter Teraks, Salvation Elite, and their platoon. Beat them like the rest.

Close to there. Fast travel back to Charon’s Crossing and head right towards Asterion Abyss. Once there, enter the Hidden Void Lost Sector. Here’s a reminder of where to find it:

Defeat the boss at the end. You will then be directed to another room, where you will see the Stranger and… a surprise! Give the Stranger the master key and enjoy the story once again.

Now, return to the Stranger to get your last reward, the Coldsnap Grenade.

How to complete Darkborn: Part 4 in Destiny 2

The fourth part of Born in Darkness became available once the community completed the Deep Stone Crypt raid on November 21, 2020.

You don’t need to complete the raid yourself to access part 4, but you do need to have completed all previous parts so far.

At this point, the routine should be simple. First, defeat the fighters in Europe using stasis abilities – 50 in total.

Next, complete three Nightfall Strikes with Statis equipped and have 60 enemies within the Nightfall Strikes affected by Statis. Again, this is pretty straightforward.

As in previous parts, you must defeat the House Salvation Elite squad, this time in Creation. Follow the mission and follow the on-screen marker until you get there.

From there, you will be asked to bring the Master Key to the Exo Stranger in Creation.

This location is actually that of Giant Exo. If you’ve completed The Lament quest, this should look familiar to you. Otherwise, the following video will show you where to go:

Once this is done, you need to find all nine Entropic Shard locations. Some of these were needed for the Aspect of Control quest that appeared upon completing Part 1, and in this final step of Part 4 you will find all nine.

If you haven’t already, you should have unlocked Salvation’s Grip so you can destroy them once you’ve found their locations.

You will then need to return to the Crux of Darkness in Riis-Reborn Approach. Again, follow the mission and follow the marker; The final location is now a familiar sight based on the various quests we’ve completed in Beyond Light.

Once this is done, the Frostpulse skin is yours.

Congratulations, you now have access to all Stasis abilities from the Season One missions. More have been published since then, including the Aspect of Influence.
