Destiny 2’s Ager’s Scepter is an exotic tracking rifle introduced in September 2021 for Season of the Lost season pass holders.
To unlock the exotic, you must complete A Hollow Coronation, which involves finding Atlas Skews and playing rounds of the season’s paired activity, Astral Alignment.

How to get Ager’s Scepter in Destiny 2 soon
Here’s a quick summary of the steps required to obtain Ager’s Scepter:
- Complete the missions Tracking the Stars I, II and III.
- Travel to the HELM and visit the Wayfinder Compass to collect ‘A Hollow Coronation’, then speak to Queen Mara Sov.
- Collect the last five Atlas Skews inside the Confluence area as part of A Hollow Coronation
- Talk to Mara Sov again, then visit the Caliburn Gatehouse area via the A Hollow Coronation quest for a cutscene.
- Earn Parallax Trajectory (100) and defeat rifle combatants in Astral Alignment
- Defeat champions in Astral Alignment (18) and defeat fighters in Astral Alignment with Supers (20)
- Complete Strikes Lake of Shadows, The Disgraced, and The Glassway.
- Return to HELM, talk to Mara to collect Ager’s Scepter and complete a short introductory quest.
- Visit Mara Sov one last time for a cutscene.
Although it seems like a lot of steps, if you’ve been completing the Tracing the Stars quest steps up to this point, you should be most of the way there, as beyond the last few Atlas Skews, it’s a matter of running Astral Alignment a few times. to unlock the weapon.
How to Start a Hollow Coronation in Destiny 2
First, you must complete the missions Tracing the Stars I, Tracing the Stars II, and Tracing the Stars III, which involve finding Atlas Skews and then depositing them in an Atlas Terminal.
If you’re just starting Season of the Lost, make sure you’ve completed steps I through VI of Wayfinder’s Voyage first. Once you’ve done so, the Tracing the Stars quests are collected from the Wayfinder compass in the HELM and involve finding five Atlas Skews, a type of collectible, whose locations are described in the link above, around Dreaming City by step. Note that A Hollow Coronation is technically a quest step after each Tracing the Stars quest; However, what we are looking for is a Exotic version (indicated by the gold color) that is unlocked once we have completed the three steps of Tracing the Stars.

How to Unlock Ager’s Scepter in Destiny 2
Once you have the exotic version of the A Hollow Coronation quest, talk to Mara Sov to start the path to unlocking Ager’s Scepter.
From here, you should find five more Atlas Skews around the Confluence area. It’s pretty similar to previous weeks, and the aforementioned links will show you exactly where to go.
Once this is done, talk to Mara Sov and then through the Director select A Hollow Coronation and visit the final Atlas terminal. This will allow you to reach a new area within the Caliburn Gatehouse, where you will find Ager’s Scepter waiting for you.
However, for now it is inaccessible. After attempting to collect Ager’s scepter, he speaks to Mara Sov again to learn that you’ll have to do some more work before you can claim it as yours.
Next, you must play the Astral Alignment seasonal activity and defeat the rifle fighters and collect 100 Parallax Trajectory.
For rifle kills, anything will do, be it pulse rifles, auto rifles, sniper rifles, etc., and as for the Parallax trajectory, it can be collected from anywhere in the game as usual. If you somehow don’t complete this step after playing Astral Alignment, then playing a Public Event Playlist Activity (worth around 100 and 75-88 respectively) will suffice.
From there, it’s time to play more Astral Alignment and defeat 18 champions and 20 fighters with Supers.
Go for a Super that allows you to defeat groups of enemies easily and/or use the Raid Banner at the start of each round for an instant Super. As for champions, make sure you have all relevant champion mods equipped and jump on them as soon as they appear; there should be some in each session.
How to collect threads of nobility in Destiny 2
Once this is done, you must collect Strands of Nobility from the thieves in Lake of Shadows (EDZ), The Disgraced (Cosmodrome), and The Glassway (Europe).
This is simpler than it seems: all you need to do is select each Director’s Strike (there is no special version) and the Strand of Nobility will drop upon completion. Note The Glassway requires you to complete the Beyond Light campaign first, which is a good excuse to do so if you haven’t already.
Once this is done, return to the HELM one last time. He talks to Mara Sov to collect the Nobel Seal, then selects A Hollow Coronation from the Director again to collect Ager’s Scepter. Ours finally!

Once everything is done, return to Mara Sov to the HELM one last time for a cutscene.

How to Unlock Ager’s Scepter Catalyst
To unlock the Ager Scepter catalyst, you must complete the Astral Alignment activities. From there, open Wayfinder’s Troves for a chance to drop it. (First impressions on reddit suggest the drop rate is quite low.)
You can increase your chances by running the higher difficulty version of Astral Alignment, with the extra chest at the end “most likely to contain” the Catalyst, according to Bungie.
To then fully unlock the Catalyst, you must defeat enemies with the weapon, and precision damage unlocks it faster. Using the weapon to destroy destructible walls in the Shattered Realm also grants additional progress, although early reports suggest this doesn’t do much or is buggy at launch.
Once fully unlocked, the Catalyst has the following advantages:
“Drains super energy, overflows the magazine, and powers the beam with additional damage and the ability to slow and freeze targets until the magazine or super energy is depleted, or the weapon is stowed. Can only be activated when super energy is full”.
