Mantis Blades and rarity difference in Cyberpunk 2077 explained

Mantis Blades are one of the four Cyberware available for your arms in Cyberpunk 2077 and are a great option for your only Cyberware arm slot.

Once you have installed the Mantis Blades, you can use them in place of your typical melee attack to deliver a series of powerful blows to your enemy.

There are three different rarity levels for Mantis Blades: Rare, Epic, and Legendary.

The rarity of the Mantis Blades decides the price, the Street Cred level required to use them, and how many mods can be applied.

The Street Cred level you need for each Mantis Blades rarity level is:

  • Rare – Level 20
  • Epic – Level 25
  • Legendary – Level 45

Aside from the price, the differences between Mantis Blades’ rarity levels are the mods you can apply to them.

Rare Mantis Blades allow you to apply Mantis Blade Edge Mods, Epic Mantis Blade mods allow you to apply two mods: an Edge mod and a Mantis Blade Rotor mod. Finally, the Mantis Blades legendary tier has a third mod slot, which can hold any Mantis Blade mod.

How to get legendary Mantis Blades for free in Cyberpunk 2077

If you want a pair of Mantis Blades in Cyberpunk 2077, but don’t feel like parting with any of your Eddies, you can easily get a pair of Legendary Mantis Blades once you gain full access to Night City in Act 2.

To find these legendary swords, you need to head to the Night City Center for Behavioral Health, which can be easily found in Corpo Plaza. To get there quickly, you can fast travel to Halsey & Mlk and then walk to the road junction directly east of this fast travel location.

Head to this location.

Once you are there, walk around the left side of the Behavioral Health Center’s main entrance and you will see a door with yellow bars.

Find this entry.

If this is your first time visiting this area, you will receive a call from Regina Jones to inform you about a Tiger Claw member who has succumbed to cyberpsychosis, which will unlock Cyberpsycho Sighting: Phantom of Night City.

Norio Akuhara can be a difficult enemy to fight, especially if you are low level, but you don’t have to fight him to grab these Mantis Blades.

When you first arrive in this small area, Akuhara will be distracted by another enemy, giving you time to run to the right side of the alley, where, near a corpse, you will find an item box.

You will be distracted for a few vital seconds.

Quickly loot this box and then run out of this area; You will now be the proud owner of a pair of legendary Mantis Blades.

You can quickly run over to this box and loot some Legendary Mantis Blades.

Now all you have to do is visit any Ripperdoc in Night City and they will install the blades for free.

Mantis Blade Mods and where to find them in Cyberpunk 2077 explained

There are two types of mobs available for Mantis Blades in Cyberpunk 2077: Mantis Blade Edge and Mantis Blade Rotor, which will increase the attack speed of your swords.

The Mantis Blade Edge, however, changes the type of damage your swords deal. There are four different types of damage that Mantis Blades can cause: physical, thermal, chemical, and electrical.

These mods can be purchased at the various Ripperdocs dotted around Night City, although the stock available will depend on which Ripperdoc you’re visiting, and you can also find the mods by looting your enemies’ bodies or crates.

You can also create your own Mantis Blades mods if you know the specifications, which can also be purchased from Ripperdocs, and have the right components.

Have fun cutting people with your Mantis Blades in Cyberpunk 2077!
