Call of Duty Warzone Bunkers: How to get Red Access Cards and open Bunker locations – including Bunker 11 – explained

Call of Duty Warzone bunkers are mysterious locations scattered throughout the Verdansk map.

These have been on the map since the arrival of the mode, although it was only with the May 18, 2020 update that players were able to open them and discover (some of) their secrets.

This page explains the locations of the bunkers, how to open them with the red key cards and what you will find inside, plus how to solve the mystery of Bunker 11.

Currently, as of Warzone Season 4, you can no longer complete this activity. If you’re looking for more help, check out our current page on the best Warzone weapons and the Vanguard Royale meta.

Call of Duty Warzone Bunker Locations Explained

The bunkers are blocked off with large, seemingly inaccessible doors. These, along with the phones and laptops you can interact with on the map, have pointed to more secrets in Warzone that players are slowly starting to unravel.

There are 12 bunkers in total, mostly on the outskirts of the map and a few around certain key locations.

Here’s a map created by Lampy101 on reddit, showing where to find many of these secrets, including bunker locations, in blue:

For example, perhaps one of the easiest to find is the bunker outside the prison (located in the southeast of the map). The bunker doors can be found just east of the location, facing a cliff:

Since this prison bunker is one of the most well-known, expect many players to make their way here in the future!

However, not all bunker doors are open air. At the western end of the map, not far from the junkyard, there are two bunkers next to each other, which require you to first explore some specific structures:

If you approach the keyboard on the side of some (but not all) of these bunkers, you will be able to interact with them. If there is a green light next to the door, it means you can access it. If that is the case, you will need an item called Red Key Card to do this.

How to find red keycards in Call of Duty Warzone

Red Keycards are items you can find while looting in Warzone.

You can find them inside random loot boxes. Receiving a red keycard appears to be very rare, with the initial theory being that legendary (red/orange) boxes are more likely to feature it than more common variants.

You can also get a red keycard from players who have collected it themselves, just like you would any other loot they found during the match.

Whichever way you get a red keycard, stay alive and head to a green-lit bunker location. Use it on the keyboard and you can access what’s inside…

Although red keycards appeared (apparently by accident) in late April, it was the May 18, 2020 patch that formally introduced the game and allowed their use on bunker doors.

Once you’ve found a red keycard, that party member must investigate a bunker with a green light and an interactive keypad. Doing so will open it.

Inside is a treasure trove of cash and high-level loot, which will help upgrade your team’s loadout for the rest of the match.

For those wondering if this will upset the balance of the match, the chances of finding a red keycard and then being close enough to explore a bunker without the gas shutting off are pretty rare. In our eyes, the loot after this chain of events seems deserved.

However, this discovery does not mean the end of the mystery of the Bunker, as a second door can be found inside. As of this writing (May 19, 2020), no one has figured out how to open them yet.

However, there is one bunker that is different from the rest and is related to the phones that you can find on the map…

How to open Bunker 11 using phones in Call of Duty Warzone

As shown in the opening image of the bunker locations on this page, in addition to the bunkers, there are other mysterious objects to find, one of which is phones.

Shortly after the first Bunkers were revealed, players discovered how to access Bunker 11, which is initially locked unless you perform a specific number of steps (thanks to StrangerRobijn on reddit for the image and explanation of this):

  1. Visit the ‘blue’ phone locations on the map until one transmits a message.
  2. At the end of the message, you will hear three numbers in Russian. These numbers correspond to three ‘red’ telephones on the map.
  3. You (and/or your team) must visit each of these phones in order.
  4. Once you have visited all three, Bunker 11 will open, which is located north of the Arklov Peak military base.

These locations are randomized each match, and any progress your team makes will be reset if it is cleared before reaching Bunker 11.

In addition to high-level loot caches like other locations, Bunker 11 features a number of oddities not found anywhere else on the map, including a mysterious server room, a button that reveals a nuclear warhead, and possibly exclusive MP7 blueprints. .

The nuke can’t be interacted with (yet) and could ultimately lead to something in a future update. Perhaps it’s a preview of the next season of the game, or even the next Call of Duty, which is a reboot of Black Ops, as confirmed by Eurogamer.
