Where and when can I catch a sturgeon in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
You can find a Sturgeon at the following times and places:
- Sturgeon months: September to March (northern hemisphere), March to September (southern hemisphere)
- Sturgeon times: 24 hours
- Sturgeon Location: River (Mouth)
- Sturgeon selling price: 10,000 bells.

Where is the mouth of the river and how do you catch a sturgeon there?
The mouth of the river is the place where the river meets the sea. You will notice that at this point the river widens and you will be able to see the bottom clearer, with rocks covering the bed; It is within this small area that the sturgeon will appear.
Specifically, you should stand on the beach and focus on the river next to you, but not so far up where it straightens (which is the river) or beyond the tide (which is the sea).
It is in this area of the river mouth that you should focus your attention to find the sturgeon.
The Sturgeon appears 24 hours a day, making it more accessible than most. It’s a large fish, so it should be easy to spot, although if you can’t see any, run away from the river and back towards it to “refresh” what appears there.
If nothing appears, remember to use fish bait to force a fish to spawn at your location.

Our advice is to start trying to fish it as soon as possible, as marathon fishing sessions can become exhausting as you approach the deadline at the end of the month.
