Burt Bacharach, the world-renowned composer and singer-songwriter, passed away at age 94 on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Famous for his unforgettable tunes like “Walk on By,” “Do You Know the Way to San Jose” and dozens of others hits, the composer received Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards during his lifetime.
The composer’s death was announced Thursday by publicist Tina Brausam. He was at his home in Los Angeles and died of natural causes.
The composer was praised worldwide for the last 70 years. Only a few, including Lennon-McCartney, Carole King and a handful of others, are said to have rivaled his genius for instantly catchy songs.
He had a run of top 10 hits from the 1950s into the 21st century.
