How to unlock the Automaton in Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard
The task of getting the Automaton is super easy since it does not involve any challenge or much time to gain levels.
To unlock the Automaton in Warzone and Vanguard, you must reach Player Level 8, which can be done almost effortlessly.
For this, we recommend any multiplayer mode, from Team Deathmatch playlists to Zombies, it’s up to you. It will probably take you less than two hours to reach player level 8, so you’ll get through it quickly.
The best Vanguard equipment and accessories, Warzone Automaton
Below are our recommendations for optimal Automaton loadout, as well as the corresponding levels for each:
- Muzzle: MX Silencer (unlocked at level 6)
- Barrel: Anastasia Sniper (unlocks at level 50)
- Optics: Slate Reflector (unlocked at level 8)
- Valor: Empress Broadsword (unlocks at level 4)

Let’s start with the snout. You’ll want to equip the MX Silencer, which adds +1 accuracy and sound suppression. It will give -1 to ADS speed, but we will balance this in the general settings.
As for the barrel, we opted for the Anastasia Sniper, which increases bullet speed and range, as well as accuracy. As a result, hipfire accuracy is affected, but only slightly.
Optics is a matter of preference – we’ve found the Slate Reflector to be a well-rounded option for this assault rifle – but again, it’s up to you!
In the stock space, we choose Empress Broadsword. This adds +2 to initial accuracy and recoil, and +1 to both ADS speed and recoil recovery. Hipfire accuracy is affected by -1, along with a -1 decrease in accuracy and recoil during sustained fire, but it’s worth including.
The Carver Foregrip attachment is an excellent choice in terms of underbarrel. Adds +2 to recoil control and +1 to hipfire accuracy, while only decreasing ADS speed by -1.
For the magazine, we recommend equipping Sakura 45 6.5mm round magazines. This will give you 45 rounds with -1 penalties to ADS speed, reload speed, and movement speed. It sounds bad, but don’t worry, this is all balanced.
Next, Elongated is a great ammo type, as it adds +3 to bullet speed, complementing the muzzle.
As for the rear grip, we will gain +1 to ADS speed, sprint speed to shoot and hip fire recoil recovery thanks to the Fabric Grip. It has a -1 cost to accuracy, but considering how much focus we put on that stat in the build, it’s balanced.
When it comes to proficiency, Sleight of Hand will help you with +1 to reload speed.
Lastly, we opted for Fully Loaded in the kit category, allowing you to start with the maximum reserve of ammo.
