Once you’ve tamed a horse in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll want to start making the most of the stables and Pony Points.
Stables function similarly to how they did in Breath of the Wild, but Pony Points are new to Tears of the Kingdom; Think of them as loyalty points that can be redeemed for free horse supplies.
In this guide, we’ll remember how stables work, learn about the new Pony Points system, and then discover each stable location in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Stables in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
The stables act as a resting place for Link, an area to do side quests, purchase items, and as a way to register your tamed horses.

Registering a horse means you can name it, provide it with a saddle, and most importantly, you can retrieve it whenever you want by visiting any of the stables scattered around Hyrule.
To register horses at the Tears of the Kingdom stables, you must approach and target a stable master with ‘ZL’, then talk to him and choose ‘Register Horse’. This will show you the strength, speed, endurance, traction, and temperament statistics for that particular horse.

Once you are sure this horse is for you, press “Yes” to register it. Please note that there are limited spaces shared between all stables and once you have reached this limit, you will need to get rid of one of your other horses in order to claim a new one.
The first registration of a horse is free, but each time a new horse is registered it costs 20 rupees.
If there is a Breath of the Wild save file on your Nintendo Switch, then the horses you have in that save will already be registered in the Tears of the Kingdom stables.

There’s a bit more of an incentive to continue registering horses even if you’re happy with your mounts in TOTK, since you can earn Pony Points for doing so.
Pony Points in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
While taming and stables work much the same as they did in Breath of the Wild, Pony Points are new to Tears of the Kingdom and reward you for using the stables more often.
To get Pony Points, you must first talk to a stable manager, who will then give you a membership card.

Once you have the Pony Points card, you’ll receive points for things like stable boarding and new horse registration. Basically, every time you use a service at a stable, another point will be added to your card. Once you have enough points, you can use the ledger counter in a stable to claim your rewards.

Each reward is tied to horses, with Pony Points rewards ranging from a tow harness to unlocking the mysterious Malanya bed in the stables, where you can receive a mystical message from a horse god.
Below you will find the rewards we have unlocked so far and the points needed to earn them:
- 3 Point – Towing Harness
- 5 points – Horse-God Fabric for your Paragliding
- 7 points – Sleeping in a Malanya bed
- 10 points – Register an additional horse
So keep using stable services if you want to rack up those points and get more rewards!
Plus, you can check your Pony Points card if you ever want to quickly know how many points you need to unlock the next reward.
