The Temple of Spirits is your final destination in the Guide to Bygone Ages quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

However, reaching this temple is not an easy task, as you must first build a construct in the construct factory. Once built, you will have to travel through The Depths of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom until you find the Temple of the Spirit.

In our Spirit Temple walkthrough below, you’ll learn how to start the Past Eras Guide and the location of the Spirit Temple. We’ve also included a summary of the plot beats you must complete to reach the Spirit Temple if you are following the game’s story.

Spirit Temple Walkthrough in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The path to the Temple of Spirits is a long one if you follow the story of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as it involves completing a main quest, solving a puzzle, and visiting a specific island in the sky.

Story wise, the game wants you to visit the Spirit Temple after finding all of the Zelda locations in Crisis in Hyrule Castle, but you may have already found it just by exploring Hyrule.

Below you will find a quick summary of what you need to do to complete the Temple of the Spirit:

It’s important to note that you can visit the Spirit Temple whenever you want, so if you’ve spent most of your time exploring Hyrule, you may have already found it. If this is your case, you may be able to skip some of the steps described above.

How to start the bygone eras guide in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Before you can begin the Guide to Past Eras in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you must begin the main quest Find the Fifth Sage and complete the main quest The Secret of the Ruins of the Ring. Finishing this quest will involve visiting Dragonhead Island and is also where the Guide to Ages Past main quest will begin, but it is not where the Spirit Temple is located.

Your quest to find the Spirit Temple continues by following the light emitted by the mask – the exact location it points to is a statue in Tobio’s Hollow on the ground directly north of where you are in the sky.

Where you must take the mask in Tobio’s Hollow.

The fastest way to get there is to pick up the mask and take it up the ramp that opened after touching said mask.

Heading down this ramp, you’ll find some Wing Zonai gadgets, along with fans, rockets, and direction sticks. There is also a gadget dispenser, which will give you more fans, direction sticks, cars, and wings.

Use Ultrahand to create a Wing glider that will take you and the mask to Tobio’s Hollow. We recommend placing the mask on the front of the Wing, so you can easily follow the light and, if you have them, use multiple batteries to increase the duration of your flight. Nearby rockets can also give you a useful boost and don’t forget that you can use Zonai Charges to extend your battery life.

When you get to Tobio’s Hollow, take off the Wings mask and take it to the pedestal the light is pointing to. Now follow the light towards the ruins, also called Tobio’s Hollow Chasm, and place it on the pedestal.

It’s important to note that you’re about to enter The Depths, so it’s a good idea to make sure you have enough light source materials, such as Brightbloom Seeds, and what you need to give Link resistance to Gloom.

After your elevator ride, the first thing you’ll want to do is turn around and activate Muokuij Lightroot to get a fast travel point and some light in the depths. With that down, she returns to the mask and takes it to where he points inside the Construct Factory.

Congratulations! You’ve found the Spirit Sage, but unfortunately he lacks a body, so we’re going to have to create one.

Helpfully, the Sage has illuminated the four depots you must visit to collect the arms and legs needed for the Build. The places you should visit are:

Once you’ve gathered all four body parts, the Build will be complete and you can finally head to the Spirit Temple. But first it’s a good idea to know a bit about the construct you’ll be traveling in…

Explanation of the construction of Mineru in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Before we cover how to get to the Spirit Temple, it’s a good idea to go over the basics of how the Mineru Building works in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

You can ride the Mineru Construct and have it follow you, but keep in mind that anything you do, whether walking or attacking, will consume some of your Energy Cell. This is the power cell you use to power all Zonai devices, so you can quickly restore it using Zonai charges, both large and small. The Energy Cell will also automatically start recharging whenever you stop walking.

The construct can still walk when the power cell is depleted, but will be much slower until it regains full power. It will also be able to attack, but will not be able to properly use any Zonai devices attached to it. So if you have a flame emitter attached to the construct, for example, it won’t be able to shoot flames until the power cell is recharged.

Mineru’s build is also connected to Link’s health, so when he takes damage, you take damage. This includes having your heart locked by a Gloom attack. However, the Construct can walk through Gloom, making navigating The Depths much easier. He also has a light that does not deplete energy cells and can help you see through the darkness.

Finally, you can place a variety of Zonai items and devices on both arms and the back of the construct similar to how you use Fuse. These accessories can be changed at any time, but they can also break, so be sure to keep an eye on them.

You can attach an object to the construct by simply walking towards something, like a fan for example, pressing ‘X’ and then choosing which part of the construct you would like to attach it to.

Spirit Temple Location: How to Get to the Spirit Temple in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Now it’s finally time to reach the Temple of the Spirit in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which is located southeast of the Construct Factory.

However, we must first add some weapons to the Mineru construct. Jump into the Construct and climb onto the shelves that have appeared around the elevator that took you to this part of The Depths.

There are several armories on your way to the Spirit Temple, which will allow you to add various Zonai devices and weapons to the Construct. For now, it’s worth adding the spiked ball and flame/shock emitter.

Once you’ve attached your chosen weapons to the Mineru build, head northeast to the next armory. Try fighting some of the monsters along the way to get used to the Construct’s battle controls. Once you’ve reached the armory, it’s a good idea to place a fan on the back of the construct to help it move faster.

When you’re ready, head towards the next armory to the southeast. Again you’ll want to keep an eye out for monsters.

At the next armory, we highly recommend adding the cannon to the construct. This weapon will be incredibly useful for the upcoming boss battle in the Spirit Temple, along with any other monsters you face along the way. You will find other cannons on your journey if it breaks and we recommend keeping a spiked ball attached as well.

With the Cannon attached, it’s time to continue heading towards the Spirit Temple. Stay away from the monsters and head towards the gold marker on your minimap. If you are not following the Guidance of Past Ages main quest, we recommend doing so at this point, as it will make getting to the Spirit Temple much easier.

However, we recommend heading south to Sijotu Lightroot if you haven’t activated it yet. This will add another section of the depths to your map and lighten the area to make it easier to navigate.

The location of Sijotu Lightroot.

From Lightroot, you can head south to another armory where you’ll find more cannons and spiked balls if you haven’t collected one yet. You will also be able to see the Temple of the Spirit from this point. Just watch out for the Black Hinox between Lightroot and the armory.

After the armory, there will be some rocks in your path. However, you can destroy these rocks using your trusty Cannon or Spiked Ball. You can do the same with the Zonaite deposit on the other side of the rocks.

Now you have a choice: you can go down the hill, spot one last armory, and then go up to the Spirit Temple, but you risk a monster attack from a Boss Bokoblin and his crew. However, there is a safer, albeit longer, route.

This route begins by going up the hill to the right of the slope that leads to the Temple of the Spirit. You will have to be on top of the construct to cross Gloom. Continue walking until you reach a cliff, which you will then need to climb. Don’t worry, the Construct will follow you.

From this ledge, you can now glide down to the Spirit Temple. Don’t worry about Mineru, just ask around the front of the Spirit Temple until the game loads it automatically. We recommend landing on the roof of the Spirit Temple as there is a Grand Poe, which is equal to 20 poes, on it.

Once the Mineru Building is in the Spirit Temple, jump on top of it and head towards the statue in the middle of the temple. When prompted, examine the statue and the elevator will take you to the Seized Construct boss battle.
