There are several Resident Evil Village demos on the way, allowing you to try out a small snippet of the full game before its release on May 7.
However, unlike the previous PS5-exclusive Maiden demo, how to access each trailer is a bit complicated – with limited availability windows and another PlayStation-exclusive demo available over multiple weekends.
Either way, every platform will have a chance to play something, as long as you know the Resident Evil Village demo times and dates during each upcoming weekend.

Resident Evil Village demo editions, times and schedule explained
The release of the Resident Evil Village demo can be a bit confusing; Here’s a breakdown of how it works:
- There is a single demo available that allows you to explore the town and castle areas of Resident Evil Village.
- All platforms (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series an extension was offered). by Capcom).
- PS5 and PS4 owners will have early access to this demo over the previous two weekends (the weekends of April 17 and 24), staggering access to the Village and Castle areas respectively over these weekends.
- Access to all demos will be limited, both in availability and playback time. The PlayStation demos will be scheduled over one afternoon in both Europe and North America, while the final cross-platform demo will begin and end at the same time globally.
- Preloads will be available on all platforms before each window.
- All demos will be free and will not require pre-orders or registration to access.
Note that these demos are different from the Maiden demo, which launched exclusively for PlayStation 5 earlier this year, although some of the same areas may appear in the castle segments. You can see a full playback of Maiden in the following video:

PlayStation owners have three total weekends to try out the Resident Evil Village demo, allowing them to explore the village and castle areas over two platform-exclusive weekends and then another alongside other platforms to play. explore any of the areas you choose.
Each weekend, you can only play the demo for a period of eight hours and play only for 30 minutes. Each period will air during late night hours in the US and Europe.
The dates and times are as follows:
Village Demo Times (Saturday, April 17 or Sunday, April 18, PlayStation Exclusive)
- US West Coast: April 17 at 5 pm to April 18 at 1 am (PDT)
- US East Coast: April 17 at 8 pm to April 18 at 4 am (EDT)
- United Kingdom: April 18 at 6 pm to April 19 at 2 am (BST)
- Europe: from April 18 at 7:00 p.m. to April 19 at 3:00 a.m. (CEST)
Castle Demo Times (Saturday, April 24 or Sunday, April 25, PlayStation Exclusive)
- US West Coast: April 24 at 5 pm to April 25 at 1 am (PDT)
- US East Coast: April 24 at 8 pm to April 25 at 4 am (EDT)
- UK: April 25 at 6pm to April 26 at 2am (BST)
- Europe: from April 25 at 7:00 p.m. to April 26 at 3:00 a.m. (CEST)
The same demo download is then supposed to give you access to the cross-platform window, which PlayStation owners can also participate in, the following weekend.

When available, you will be able to access the demo for just 60 minutes. Availability throughout the week is the same worldwide: starting in the afternoon of May 1 in the US and in the early hours of May 2 in Europe.

It is possible to download the demo before each weekend, allowing you to start playing as soon as each window opens.

On PS5, the demo size is around 8.81 GB at least.
Phew! There are many dates and times to cover. Bottom line: PlayStation will have something every weekend, while the weekend before launch, all platforms can test the demo for the following week.
If you miss out, the good news is that the game will be released shortly after, on May 7, so you won’t have to wait long to play it in its entirety.
