The fast rate of fire, speed of aiming down sights, and overall mobility make for a great combination. Although it is a sniper rifle by nature, it has been one of the best sniper options in Warzone for a while, and for good reason.

How to unlock the Kar98k in Vanguard and Warzone
As we mentioned above, we will be looking at both variants of the Kar98k in Call of Duty: Warzone.
One of these variants originates from Modern Warfare, while the other version comes courtesy of Vanguard. The difference comes down to categorization: the Modern Warfare variant is listed as a marksman rifle while the Vanguard variant is in the sniper category.
To unlock the Kar98k in Warzone, all you have to do is reach player level 33.
To unlock the Kar98k in Vanguard, you must reach player level 43, which is ten additional levels.
If you opt for just Warzone, Battle Royale or Rebirth will be more than enough. The more time you spend in matches, the greater the experience will be. Considering the nature of these modes, it won’t take you long to reach that level, even if you are a new account.
The best Vanguard Kar98k equipment and accessories in Warzone
Below are our recommendations for optimal Vanguard Kar98k loadout, as well as the corresponding levels for each:

Let’s start with the snout. You’ll want to equip the F8 stabilizer for this one, which adds +1 accuracy with no drawbacks involved.
As for the barrel, we opted for the 374mm Shiraishi, which increases the speed of aiming down sights and slightly reduces the speed of the bullet.
As usual, optics are down to preference – we’ve found the Slate Reflector to be a well-rounded option for this assault rifle – but again, it’s up to you. The default optics are also good on their own.
In the equity segment, we go for short stocks. This adds +2 to movement speed and +1 to ADS, aiming movement while walking and running at shooting speeds. It costs -2 accuracy, -2 recoil control, -1 recoil resistance, and -1 walking stability, but it’s worth including.
The M1930 Strife Angled Attachment is a great option in terms of the bottom of the barrel. Adds +2 accuracy and +1 to both aiming stability and walking stability with the slight cost of -1 to run at firing speed.
For the charger, we recommend not choosing any specific accessories, since they all have major disadvantages and will not change the capacity of the charger much in any of the cases.
Next, Lengthened is a great ammo type, as it adds +3 to bullet speed.
As for the rear grip, we will gain +1 ADS and sprint speed to fire, as well as +1 hip fire recoil recovery thanks to the Fabric Grip. It costs -1 to accuracy, but it’s a minor drawback.
When it comes to competition for this build, Quickscope is a great match by adding +1 accuracy immediately after aiming down sights.

For the third perk, we opted for Amped over the others to ensure you can switch between the two weapons as quickly as possible.
Lastly, the heartbeat sensor is the perfect companion for preparing ahead of time or tracking down anyone who dares to escape your line of sight. However, in case someone manages to sneak near you, having a Claymore placed near you should provide help when needed.
The best Modern Warfare Kar98k equipment and accessories in Warzone
Below are our recommendations for optimal Kar98k loadout, as well as the corresponding levels for each:
- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor (unlocked at level 33)
- Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6″ (Unlocked at level 45)
- Laser: Tac Laser (unlocked at level 27)
- Optics: Sniper Scope (unlocked at level 19)
- Stock: FTAC Sport Comb (unlocks at level 43)
We start with the muzzle. In this particular loadout we opted for the monolithic suppressor, which increases the damage range and adds sound suppression. Walking stability and aiming speed are affected by this, but don’t worry as we’ll make up for it later.
The Singuard Custom 27.6″ barrel is a vital inclusion in this build. Both your movement and ADS speed will be reduced, but only slightly, and this will be compensated for later. As compensation, you will gain damage range and bullet speed .and reverse control.
Yes, we know adding the Tac Laser to a marksman rifle sounds a little ridiculous, but there’s a good reason for it. You’ll get ADS speed as well as aiming and walking stability, which is a must for the Kar98k.
The accessory that really brings it all together is the Sniper Scope. It comes at a cost to ADS speed, but since we’ve already covered it from every possible angle, you don’t really have to worry about it.
Lastly, we swapped target stability for faster ADS speed with the FTAC Sport Comb. ADS will be super fast with this build, taking full advantage of the bolt action nature of the rifle.
