The Welcome to Alola event in Pokémon Go celebrates the arrival of 22 Gen 7 Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
To celebrate their arrival, complete the Welcome to the Alola Collection challenge and collect Field Research Tasks. The legendary Tapu Koko also awaits you in five-star raids.
Don’t forget to complete the special research quest A Melemele Adventure; It’s the first of four research missions themed around the Alola region, and if you complete them all, you’ll gain free access to an end-of-season mission.

Welcome to the Alola Collection Challenge Pokémon list in Pokémon Go
The Welcome to the Alola Collection Challenge is available during the current event in Pokémon Go, which means that if you want to add it to your Elite Collector medal, you must complete it before Wednesday, March 9 at 8 pm (local time).
These are the Pokémon you must find for the Welcome to the Alola Collection challenge:
- Rowlet – In the wild
- Litten – In nature
- Popplio – In nature
- Pikipek – In nature and field research task (Walk 1 km)
- Yungoos – In nature and field research task (1km walk)
- Gumshoos – Evolve (Yungoos, 50 sweet Yungoos and evolved during the day)
Completing this challenge will reward you with 7000 XP and 15 Ultra Balls.
The Season of Adventure Abundance is here! The Out to Play event is currently taking place. You can also work on the Timed Investigation: Master Ball mission and compete in Go Battle League. Be sure to compete in Shadow Raids, complete routes, use Daily Adventure Incense for a chance to encounter Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, and Galarian Moltres. This incense can also give you encounters with other rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
Welcome to the Alola Field Research Tasks in Pokémon Go
By spinning PokéStops during the Welcome to Alola event in Pokémon Go, you can collect field research tasks from the event.
While these tasks can be saved and completed after the event, we recommend completing them during the event, because some of the Pokémon rewards will help you complete the Welcome to the Alola Collection Challenge.
Below you can find the Welcome to Alola field research tasks:
- 1 km walk reward: encounter with Pikipek or Yungoos
- Reward for catching 7 Pokémon: 10 Poké Balls or 10 Great Balls

Everything we know about the Welcome to Alola event in Pokémon Go
The Welcome to Alola event in Pokémon Go will run until Wednesday, March 9 at 8 pm (local time) and its main attraction is, of course, the release of 22 Pokémon from Gen 7. These are the first true members of Gen 7 to arrive. in-game: Alola forms have been available for quite some time now!
Some of these Pokémon can be found in the wild, while others can only be obtained once you have completed an evolution and can be battled against two in raids.

The Special Research Mission A Melemele Adventure, the first of four special research missions themed around the islands of the Alola region, was released as part of this event. The other three research missions will also be released as part of an upcoming in-game event and you have until Wednesday, June 1, the end of the Alola Season, to collect them all.
While none of these missions have a deadline, we recommend completing them before Wednesday, June 1, because doing so will earn you free access to an end-of-season event.
A variety of Pokémon will also appear in raids during the Welcome to Alola event, including Bellsprout, Snubbul, Phanpy, Electrike, and Rockruff in one-star raids. Meanwhile, in three-star raids, you can find Alolan Raichu, Alolan Graveler, Nidoqueen, and Wigglytuff.
Finally, Tapu Koko will be making her first appearance in five-star raids until Tuesday, March 15, and Mega Venusaur has returned to Mega Raids.
